What is the best thing that I love about my work? The best thing I like about being an agency model is definitely all the different types of people I get to work with and meet. I also like being part of a team that brings a creative image to real life and being able to give back to my community with all the charity events.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness is not taking so much time focusing on what we want to be and do because nothing ever goes to plan but instead be able to look around and have people who you love and have people that love you and believe that you can achieve anything.
What is my greatest fear?
My greatest fear is waking up one day and realizing that I hold a lot of regrets of things I didn’t do because of fear or insecurities.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
The trait I most deplore about myself is my need to control a lot of what goes on around me. I have a very aggressive anxiety that makes me lose out on a lot of amazing opportunities because of my lack of control on things around me.
What is my greatest extravagance?
My greatest extravagance is definitely beauty products, more brand name make-up, to skin care and beauty treatments.
On what occasion would I lie?
I don’t particularly like to lie simply because I feel lies are not worth the trouble it takes to keep them going, however I will tell the occasional “white lie” if it will spare someone’s feelings on a small subject such as appearances, or to give them courage.
What is the influence of role models, in my work and in my life?
I like to take influence from people all around me because everyone has something to offer but my biggest model role model is Candice Swanepoel because she is so down to earth and to her modeling is almost a sport, she uses her body in a trained healthy way.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
The thing I most dislike about my work is that pendulum has seem to have swung too far in the sense that models tend to be unhealthy skinny, and that plus size modeling has begun to be interpreted as being unhealthily overweight is okay. Both extremes (unhealthy underweight, and overweight) are very bad examples to give to young people because this is their life we are talking about.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
I think the moments I feel the happiest is when I am walking the runway and I see my family or just my fiancé watching me giving me an encouraging smile, and it makes it that much better.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
If I could change anything about myself it would definitely be my depression and anxiety, I was diagnosed when I was 18 years old and I do believe it has limited and stopped me on a lot of occasion when following my dreams.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
My greatest achievement in modeling is definitely defying a lot of obstacles and just opinions on why I shouldn’t be a model because I am a mother and an average height Hispanic.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
My most inspirational location in my city has got to be my room. I have written many stories and had many ideas for concept photoshoots, in my room I feel at peace and can allow my mind to just wander.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?
My favorite place to eat and drink in my city is Chik-fil-A, their grilled wraps are everything.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, and partner in crime?
My greatest fan/sponsor/partner in crime is my fiancé Julio Torres not only professionally but emotionally. Julio has believed in me and was even quick to pick up the camera when I first told him I wanted to model, he borrowed his parents camera and made me a make shift shoot, and is now pursuing photography to help me.
Whom would I like to work with in the future?
Since I first started modeling I have been obsessed with Amanda Diaz’s work, she is a Canadian photographer and she is simply amazing. It is my dream to one day be able to work with her as a model.
What project, in the nearby future, am I looking forward to work on?
I am going to be art of the Barbizon talent search competition. There are agents from different agencies coming to scout new talent and I am very excited to be part of it and see what comes out of it.
