What is the best thing that I love about my work?
My job is about creating objects that constitute our environment. The best part of it is to give sens to them and imagine how we can change the habit of someone and bring joy to their daily life. I love to design because I need to create.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
The perfect happiness to me is when people that you love are happy. Happiness is sharing. Happiness is seeing someone smiling. Happiness is evolving together.
What is my greatest fear?
I think that people are afraid that something will happen to them. I’m more afraid that nothing happens to me. I’m afraid not to live, feel or experience enough.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I lack assiduity sometimes. I want to do a lot of things and explore many fields but often I can’t keep my attention but I’m working on it.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
Matali Crasset. I admire her way of thinking. Her work talks about people, how they can connect with objects, how they are related to each other and how they experiment it. The modularity and the evolving aspect of her products are very interesting to me.
What is my greatest extravagance?
I choose to follow a man and to live in French Guyana for two years. It was very difficult to find work in product design over there but I wanted to challenge myself! I finally worked in a communication agency and started to learn graphic design.
On what occasion would I lie?
I think I am honest most of the time, but it can happen when it’s not important and that the truth could hurt someone.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Ecologically concerned I feel very bad to design a product that, I know, will not be sustainable. We can try to make it more sustainable but it’s still complex to reconcile eco-conception and industrial product. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
It was in Vannes, in 2015, when I’ve seen for the first time a product I’ve drawn coming out from the workshop. It was an accomplishment to see my efforts rewarded after all the experimentations, 3D designed and drawings.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
Every strength can be a weakness and every weakness can be a strength. If I change anything in my person I have to change the whole system I think, because I am used to my qualities and to my faults.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
At this time I would say the collection Play, an interior products collection in raw steel, that I have drawn some years ago. The aim of this project was to create a flat kit that you can easily build and deconstruct to bring it with you all through your life.
Where would I most like to live?
In Brittany, on the west coast of France because I spent each summer over there when I was a kid. It’s a particular atmosphere, salty, full of memories and good energies. I love the smell of the pines next to the beach and stories related to this place.
What is my most treasured possession?
My surfboard that my parents gave me when I was twelve. I started surfing next to Carnac when I was 9 and it was one of the best feeling I’ve ever had. It’s quite cumbersome but I think it was one of the precious object I had. Just to touch it or to smell the wax on it can make me as happy as melancholic.
What is my most marked characteristic?
Humour? It’s so important to laugh, for body and mind so I try to do it many times a day !
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
I am living in Saint-Germain en Laye, and there is a huge castle in front of the park. It’s a nice walk with a beautiful view on Paris at the end.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?
« Le Phare Saint-Louis » where we can eat succulent galettes and crêpes, and have a drink at the « Bitter end » a bar that makes nice cocktails.
What books influenced my life and how?
« Comment libérer votre cerveau » by Idriss Aberkane, because it talks about neuroscience and made me realize that our brain is very modular. I learned how to train it to change the way I solve problems or how I can improve my memory.
« Biomimetism » by J.Benyus, a book about how we can use the nature not in a material way but in an inspire way for shapes, processes and systems.
Who are my favorite writers?
A.Nothomb, for her style and her philosophical way of seeing life and people psychology. V.Despentes because she writes for the underground world very crudely and sincerely.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
Imitosis, Andrew Bird, because it’s a song full of childhood memories.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
The character of Laurence in « Laurence Anyway » of Xavier Dolan. She’s a transgender with such humanity and courage that she inspires me everyday. I could watch this movie indefinitely.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
People who try to make the world better, everywhere all the time. People who defend oppressed. People who defend nature and life. People who defend integrity and inclusivity.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?
« The angel’s share » of Ken Loach, is one of my favorites but it is very difficult to choose only one movie.
What role plays art in my life and work?
Art is a part of my life. I was sensitized to it since I am a child, especially to painting and photography. It’s a constant way of inspiration to me and I like to go to museums.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
My parents. They are always involved in my life and they support me whatever my choices. Since I am a child they encourage my creativity.
Whom would I like to work with in 2019/2020?
I would like to work with the Sismo Design agency in the future because I love their projects.

Mathieu Lehanneur have an intelligent way to think his projects and I would like to know more about his vision.

I want to participate to some contests like the Verallia Design Awards, and follow up my master’s end of study project creating partnership with different actors and give life to it.

Should I choose 1:1 coaching?
Our The Heroine’s Journey experiences in world cities allow you to learn not only from the coach but also from your peers. For the small group coaching (1 – 4 people), we have selected important, relevant topics that we find regularly come up for creative professional: purpose, storytelling, creative confidence, self promotion, time & money and resilience.
If you would prefer to work alone or on a different topic, individual coaching is a better fit for you.
What language do we speak in the coaching sessions?

Can I bring my own topics?
Yes, for individual coaching you get to choose your own topic.
Are coaching sessions confidential?

Where will the coaching sessions take place?
