The Heroine’s Journey of Tina Touli

What is the best thing that I love about my work?  To do a job which does not feel like a job. To be able to enjoy, appreciate and get satisfaction from every little thing that you do.
What is my greatest fear?  Stagnation. What motivates me and keeps me going is the excitement of something new. Something that comes unexpected, motivates me a lot.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? Paula Sher. Always impressed by her strong designs across a great variety of mediums and means of communication.
On what occasion would I lie?  When I get too shy.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?  I really enjoy working on various projects at the same time. When I am stuck, tired or not in a mood to work further on one project, I jump on another one. This variation as well as constantly blending things from the physical and the digital world, working across different platforms and mediums are what make me happy me the most!
If I could, what would I change about myself?  Be less workaholic and spent more time hanging out with friends and family.
What is my greatest achievement in work?  Be able to always make things work. Even if you don’t know how to make it happen, get started with what you’ve got, and you will figure it out on your way.
Where would I most like to live?  Around the world by traveling.
What is my most marked characteristic?  Persistence. I like to continuously challenge myself, by experimenting and setting up new goals, never giving up on them, and by learning new skills and exploring new fields, new mediums.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?  Homeslice pizza. For drinks wherever my best friends are.
What books influenced my life and how?  I am more of a visual person, but one of my favourite books is the “It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be” by Paul Arden.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?  Rock music.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?  I have always been persistent in following my dreams and my passion, so any fiction hero who does the same is an inspiration to me.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?  My friends and my family have always been the biggest influence and inspiration for me. The people that I am connected with are those who defined who I am, both as a designer and as a person.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?   It is definitely really hard to pick just one movie. One that comes to my mind is the Rear Window by Alfred Hitchcock.
What role plays art in my life and work?  It is always a great inspiration as well as a strong medium of expression.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?  My sister. Always there to support me, assist me and give me a honest feedback from a non-graphic designer but creative person’s view.
Whom would I like to work with in 2020?  People that are passionate about their work and they don’t care if it is weekend or weekday, day or night. People that would spend every hour doing something that they love, something that they would do if money didn’t matter.
What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on?  My goal is always to make every single project the best project that I ever worked on. I like to continuously challenge myself, by experimenting and exploring new fields, new mediums. What motivates me and keeps me going is the excitement of something new. Learning and creating something different from last time.
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?  Whatever I do, I always do it with all I have.
What is my most treasured possession?  To be able to build solid concepts and work across different platforms and mediums.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?  Any bus or train. It allows me to clearly think and find creative solutions for my projects.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?  My work is my passion, which makes it really hard to differentiate my life from my work.
Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2020?  Always happy to meet new people from all creative professions and levels. 🙂
What is my greatest extravagance?  Collecting various objects and materials, be a bit of a hoarder.
