What is the best thing that I love about my work?
Introspection. Being an actress, interpreting other people, other lives, requires, first of all, a work on ourselves.
The life of the other becomes a mirror for us, and so it becomes a magical journey within ourselves to discover our deepest features.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
Happiness is a choice. It does not depend on moments of joy or difficulty, those are part of life, it is life. But when we choose to be happy there is nothing more and nobody who can take it away. Four years ago I decided to be a happy woman, and so it was. I did not listen to what society told me to do, I gathered my courage and strength and I firmly started doing what I felt. Today I am a happy woman, a happy daughter, a happy fiance, a happy actress.
What is my greatest fear?
If I only had one !!! Actually I have more than one!
But I think my biggest fear is to leave this world without leaving an encouraging message, a sign for other people.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I try not to regret but accept myself, in all my features!
Inconstancy is an aspect that I have always fought with in me, in certain moments I slowly lose sight of my focus, but luckily the recovery time is less and less.
It is a continuous job!
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
I love Meryl Streep, she is a fantastic actress, she has played the most varied roles in an impeccable way, she is incredibly versatile, very talented actress
Another actress who I admire a lot, who is a source of inspiration for me, is Uma Thurman.
What is my greatest extravagance?
I can wear wrinkled clothes with great elegance!
In September I was with a dear friend of mine, a director, at the Venice Film Festival. I pulled an evening dress out of the suitcase because we had to go to a party, and she said “Veronica you can’t wear it, it’s wrinkled!”. I told her not to worry that once worn it would be perfect.
I put it on, she looked at me and said: “Oh my God! how do you wear wrinkled clothes … always come out of the tailoring!!!”
On what occasion would I lie?
I hate lying, also because I struggle to do it, who knows me knows that my eyes never lie, so it is difficult for me to do it.
I always say that I perform as an actress but I’m not an actress in real life. If I lie, I do it for fun, but never seriously. Loyalty is a principle on which I base my life.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Narcisism is a feature into the actress’ personality, but sometimes it takes over and so you find yourself working in an environment full of ego.
Sometimes I find myself in front of two people: the person itself and his ego.
This becomes difficult in relationships and especially in collaboration.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
When I debuted, about a year ago, with my monologue, of which I am also the author. That text is very important to me.
It is titled The Anchor of Salvation: the story of Giulia Valeri’s life who, through reflections and anecdotes, she retraces her encounter with depression which she transforms into strength and stimulus to face and enjoy her life.
For me it was a catharsis to both write and represent it. When art saves your life.

If I could, what would I change about myself?
Nothing, I wouldn’t change anything about myself. All that I am is part of me and I have earned it.
My “less beautiful” sides serve me as firewood to continue evolving in life.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
A year ago. It was the third replay of my monologue, and in the end a spectator came to me and thanked me, telling me that she was suffering from depression, and that my show was encouraging for her life. Another greatest achievement was the public health award for my show.
Where would I most like to live?
My dream is to live in a seaside place. I’ve always dreamt of looking through the window and seeing the sea. It gives me a sense of peace, freedom, it gives me good vibes.
It is a source of inspiration for my work and for my life.
What is my most treasured possession?
Myself and the people I love.I always say this because there have been moments in life in which I felt I didn’t have myself, that I was at the mercy of the wind.
Today I can say that I feel I rooted strongly, like a tree, which allows me to know who I am and I am able to go and do what I want for my life.
What is my most marked characteristic?
Sunshine. I am a sunny person, I love to smile even if there is no apparent reason. I smile because I love life, I love this incredible gift, I love to surprise me if I see a flower along the road where I walk or if I see a boy riding a bicycle listening to music … I love to smile.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
when I need inspiration and I am in my city I go to walk on the Colli Euganei, I immerse myself in nature and in the beautiful panoramas, there my mind calms down and from harmony I can draw the best inspirations.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?
my home! My father is a Chef, and how he cooks me spaghetti with tomatoes does not make me use them!!!
In addition, he is a great wine lover, so for a good glass, just go to our cellar.
What books influenced my life and how?
“Letters to Lucilio” by Seneca is a book that has been accompanying me since high school, and every time I reread some of it I continue to amaze myself at how current the themes that one of the greatest philosophers in history are dealing with.
“The unbearable lightness” by Milan Kundera is one of the books I love most, able to make me ask existential questions. It is a book that also becomes a journey into one’s soul.
Who are my favorite writers?
I don’t have one in particular, it always depends on the moment of my life. I really like Irène Némirovsky.
In this period I am reading a lot of poetry, among my favorite poets Percy Shelley and Cesare Pavese.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
I have no doubts, I would certainly listen to Father and Son by Cat Stevens.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
Josephine March, one of the protagonists of the novel “Little Women” by L. M. Alcott.
A rebellious character par excellence, funny, ironic, who absolutely does not want to be caged by the female constrictions of her time.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
My heroes and heroines in real life are all those people who know how to reborn despite the hard trials of life, those who learn to love and love despite never having been loved. Those who get up every day and create value around them.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?
“Body and soul” by Ildiko Enyedi, see it!
What role plays art in my life and work?
My work is a form of art and it is chained with my life. I could not imagine them separated. Without one there would be no other.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
My father! My first fan, my first supporter. Even today, when I’m thirty, when we can,we take a few days to visit an art city, an exhibition, a museum.
It was he who passed on my love for art.
Whom would I like to work with in 2020?
In 2020 I would like to work with my favorite director Marco Bellocchio, I hope so!
Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2020?
Obviously Marco Bellocchio!!!
What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on?
I am currently working on a theatrical production “The Last Moons” by Furio Bordon which will be staged in November 2020 at the Verdi Theater in Padua.
It’s a show that I’m really enjoying and I can’t wait to do it.
Also I’m working on a short film which I can’t reveal anything about yet!
Where can you see me or my work in 2020?
In Italy! The next appointment: with my monologue “The anchor of salvation” at the theater of the philodramatic ones of Treviglio, I leave you the link below
https://www.teatrofilodrammaticitreviglio.it/evento/lancora-di-salvezza/
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?
Making art is not just a job, it is a mission, making oneself available to society to give something more, and you do it out of passion, not out of duty.
Doing things out of passion is a choice, even difficult at times, but for an artist there is no other way than to live like this, forever.
