What is my greatest extravagance?
I always repeat the same mistakes and sometimes I come back teen
On what occasion would I lie?
I’m not good at lying, I usually read it right in the face and I would be easily discovered. but I’m no longer a proponent of sincerity at all costs, I happen to omit more often and usually not to hurt someone I love
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
the speed that has been imposed by technology, the fact that everyone thinks that a photograph is very simple to do. this led to a devaluation of professionalism and a generalized flattening of photography
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
the happiest moment was been in 2009, a year in which with my “Hçtel Réverie” project, I won numerous awards: Celeste prize, ARTE LAGUNA PRIZE, ITS EIGHT TALENT SUPPORT, Pitti Immagine awards. ITS talent award ceremony in Trieste , was been one of the most amazing parties in which i participated!!
If I could, what would I change about myself?
I would like to be more extroverted and improve the ability to expose myself in public
What is my greatest achievement in work?
to have arrived where I am without anyone’s strength, completely with my own strength
Where would I most like to live?
I love my city Florence, because you can breathe art and beauty everywhere, in recent years my dream is to move more in the adjacent countryside to live more in contact with nature. But I don’t want to go very far, I need to be able to have contact with the city when I want to
What is my most treasured possession?
surely my dog Musa a English Bulldog that gives me a lot to do, but that fills me with her love and the tools of my work, especially the analog cameras that I collect.
What is my most marked characteristic?
Sensitivity and empathy. I am very fascinated by people’s lives and I like to surround myself with friends of elective affinity
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
Florence is a fairly human-sized city, my studio is located in the San Lorenzo district, a stone’s throw from the cathedral and all the beautiful places in the center. I love watching sunsets on the bank of the river Arno, near the old bridge.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?
Santo Spirito square, in the district of oltrarno, less touristy and more artisans, or at Piazzale Michelangelo, you can find beautiful view. You can stop, sit on the stairs and drink a beer enjoying a fantastic sunset over the city.
What books influenced my life and how?
Cristina Campo, as author, for all her thought. If I have to quote a title: “the unforgivable”, and Emily Dickinson’s and Marina Cvetaeva’s poems.

A fundamental role, my greatest aspiration is that art and life are totally intertwined.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?
makes me feel like I’m an active part of my life. Our point of view is important, but it’s also nice to take into account the point of view of those who look at us from outside, even to be told. The most beautiful thing is when our story and what others tell about us matches
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
I have some people who are the pillars of my life, the ones who believe in me and support me in every project: They’re the true life-long friends

Belgrado, Alessia Locatelli. I don’t have other names to name in particular, it should be someone who falls in love with my work and who stimulates me to grow up. Surely he could be an art dealer, a curator, or a photo editor.
What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on?
I’m working on a project that should become a book. The pandemic has made it very difficult to resume shooting but I hope to carry on this project on the particular fantasies of a certain type of people, I do not want to reveal too much.

Peter de Kuster is the founder of The Heroine’s Journey & Hero’s Journey project, a storytelling firm which helps creative professionals to create careers and lives based on whatever story is most integral to their lives and careers (values, traits, skills and experiences). Peter’s approach combines in-depth storytelling and marketing expertise, and for over 20 years clients have found it effective with a wide range of creative business issues.
Peter is writer of the series The Heroine’s Journey and Hero’s Journey books, he has an MBA in Marketing, MBA in Financial Economics and graduated at university in Sociology and Communication Sciences.

The Heroine’s Journey Coaching online sessions last 50 minutes and the fee is Euro 189 excluding VAT per session. The Heroine’s Journey Coaching is suitable for people at any stage in their career.

Should I choose 1:1 coaching?
Our The Heroine’s Journey experiences in world cities allow you to learn not only from the coach but also from your peers. For the small group coaching (1 – 4 people), we have selected important, relevant topics that we find regularly come up for creative professional: purpose, storytelling, creative confidence, self promotion, time & money and resilience.
If you would prefer to work alone or on a different topic, individual coaching is a better fit for you.
What language do we speak in the coaching sessions?

Can I buy coaching for my organization?
Yes, you can! We support many organizations around the world with their coaching needs. Please contact us for more information.
Can I bring my own topics?
Yes, for individual coaching you get to choose your own topic.
Are coaching sessions confidential?
Yes. Peter will not share anything that is discussed in the coaching sessions.
Where will the coaching sessions take place?
Sessions will take place online (as per the times we live in) via an online tool like Zoom or Skype. Peter will let you know.
