I’ve met several people with whom I shared truly brilliant professional experiences. I fondly remember Maria Grazia and Luciano. I have never met Elisabetta Franchi, but I saw an interview with her and I immediately felt positive energy. I also like Erika Cavallini and I think I am in love with Michèle Lamy.

What is my greatest extravagance? 

Tattoo is my greatest extravagance and many parts of my body are tattooed. The drawings are all personalized and tell my favorite themes: Botany and Anthropology.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work ?

I wish there was more respect for our work as designers and more openness to digital technology. Frame, the new project I’m working on, focuses on this. As a Textile Design Studio, I am trying to encourage my customers to view and purchase the collection entirely online in order to help the environment. Printing designs on fabric is an ancient tradition, but at this moment is not easily sustainable for a number of reasons. We can create new more sustainable traditions for us and the environment.

Mi piacerebbe ci fosse più rispetto per il lavoro di noi designers e più apertura verso la tecnologia digitale. Frame, il nuovo progetto su cui sto lavorando, si focalizza proprio su questo. Come studio di disegni tessili per una questione prettamente ambientale, sto cercando di incoraggiare i miei clienti a vedere ed acquistare la collezione interamente online. E’ una tradizione antica quella di stampare i disegni su tessuto, ma in questo momento è diventato realmente poco sostenibile per tutta una serie di fattori, possiamo creare delle nuove tradizioni più sostenibili per l’ambiente e per noi.

When I feel that there are parts of myself that are no longer needed, I try to work on modifying them.

As a freelance designer I am so proud to see how I overcome challenges every day and how I reach my goals. It is very difficult at this time to work on your own.

Right now I am living in Buenos Aires and the most inspirational location here is the San Telmo market. It is the nerve centre of the “porteño” antiques, it is full of objects and people with a lot of stories to tell.

At the top there is Mudrà, then Artemisia e Buenos Aires Verde. Boticario Bar and Fu King Bar are the best for cocktails.

What books influenced my life and how?

There are many books that have influenced me. I mention three of them : « Siddharta » by Hermann Hesse, because it opens your heart; « Mutant Message Down Under », by Marlo Morgan, because of the connection created between different cultures; « The Goldfinch » by Donna Tartt, that has a deeply emotional value to me and it reminds me of the most precious friendship I have.

My heroine is Mathilda, a teenage girl played by Natalie Portman in the movie: “Leon” by Luc Besson.

Mathilda is a very strong and smart character, but still very pure.

My grandmother Mariuccia, I admire her a lot. She has faced many things in life and I think she is a very feminist example, to use a current term.

What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on? 

Since the beginning of 2020 I’ve been working on the transformation of my Textile Design Studio, converting the entire printed collection into digital one, only with online sale.

I opened the new collection on the 1st of July and it is officially open to buyers.
