What is the best thing that I love about my work? The freedom to do what i love and when i want, using coffee to paint familiar faces and people i’ve never seen in my life.
What is my idea of happiness? To live forever of my art, being in contact with nature and the sea. See different places and peoples in the world (possibly with a yellow 70s van) without stopping, would be the best!
What is my greatest fear? Having to do a job i don’t like and then find my self unhappy
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? The anxiety that pervades me when i have to do something difficult
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? My sister’s, she is a great artist , the one who started me drawing since i was a little girl
What is my greatest extravagance? I have the gift to understand just by observing or speaking for a few minutes with a disgruntled person,whether it is a negative or positive person
On what occasion would I lie? The last time i’ve lied is so not to do displease anyone, i don’t like to lie i always say the truth, it’s important to be honest .
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? The only thing i detest is when sometimes a portrait fails to be as perfect as i had imagined
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? When i received the commission of a coffee portrait from a girl in Spain. To think that my work is so far away is exciting!
If I could, what would I change about myself? I’d try to be less impulsive and a little less stubborn
What is my greatest achievement in work? Make the people happy who commissioned a portrait, their satisfaction and amazement when they look at my drawings and they are happy, it is gold to me!
Where would I most like to live? Anywhere in the world as long as there is a sea, it’s a visceral love for me.
What is my most treasured possession? The positivity, the fact of looking at the glass always full, despite everything
What is my most marked characteristic? Emotionally and with empathy i always try to put myself in the shoes of others
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? The Aretusa Spring in Ortigia , is set the legend of Arethusa and Alpheus, a source of fresh water that joins the sea water. Inside this body of water grows the plant of papyrus …A place to relax and let your thoughts fly free
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city? There is not a favorite place, i like to change . The important thing is to have good company, good food and a good mojito!
What books influenced my life and how? I was very impressed at a young age by “THE PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GRAY” . It’s very current as a book , today revolves around the “aesthetics!” but the beauty and youth are ephemeral not lasts forever, what remains of us is who we are, what we do, our actions. They are more important than a perfect face or body that never gets old!
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Although i love rock music, punk rock but i always thought that for that moment the right song would be What a wonderful world – louis Armstrong , very reassuring!..no sad songs please
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? My mother and father, managed to stand up to 5 daughters giving us love, education and values; and my grandmother was very strong and wise
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? It’s hard, there’d be a whole list of movies to watch at least once in a lifetime… Nuovo cinema paradiso – Giuseppe Tornatore is beautiful!
What role plays art in my life and work? I based my entire life on art has always been part of me. At the age of 8 years i took orders for cartoons drawings that i had to realize to my school friends. Everything happened at times during the lesson under the eyes of the teachers, not very happy!
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me? Everything depends on us from our actions that determine our future
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My family, they always advise me in everything! the family is very important for me.
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2020? Maybe collaborate with different coffee companies and realize something special together, it would be an idea!
Which people in my profession who can make a real difference in my creative career would i love to meet in 2020? I would like to meet artists who perform a type of art different from me. Like the biggest Banksy, Maurizio Cattelan , Michelangelo Pistoletto
What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on? I would like to realize an exhibition in Rome of all my coffee portraits would be a nice milestone!
Where can you see me or my work in 2020? At moment i will continue with the portraits at the coffee, teach the coffee technical in courses and graphic
design. Maybe tomorrow i will find myself painting with chocolate! who knows!
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? That you must never stop doing what you love, and make us feel good never stop believing in your passions even in old age.
