What is the best thing that I love about my work? I have always been a creative person, much more inclined to dream than to plan a practical life. For this reason, as a child I decided that I would do some sort of creative job. I live with words and what I love most about my job is the opportunity to write and free my imagination.
What is my idea of happiness? Have no regrets and be loved.
What is my greatest fear? Two are my biggest fears: loneliness and the inability to get passionate about things. I live taking inspiration from anything and I could not bear to lose interest in what surrounds me.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? Insecurity. I often tend to underestimate myself and believe that anything I do is not good enough. I am extremely self-critical and this frequently leads me to deprive myself of interesting opportunities because I do not consider myself capable of facing them or, worse, not deserving them.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? In copywriting nobody, I must confess. However, in the wider idea of writing, I would say Chuck Palahniuk.
What is my greatest extravagance? I am terribly, hopelessly, definitely nerd.
On what occasion would I lie? I hardly ever lie but when I do it is only for being polite: just those little white lies that can be necessary to make others feel better.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Fortunately, it rarely happens, but there are certain occasions in which I have to compromise with the customer’s requests including when I have to create a text about something that bores me. I think creativity must be boosted by passion and mine, specifically, it is very difficult to unleash when the topic does not thrill me at all. But it’s a matter of work, and I have to bend to its rules.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? The most beautiful part of my work is when those who read my texts draw emotions from it and write me to thank me, urging me to never stop pursuing this great passion of mine. I always find it very nice when my message reaches the heart of the reader.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I would like to learn to be more self-confident and not be frightened by what I believe are insurmountable difficulties. I would like to live life more lightly.
What is my greatest achievement in work? One of my greatest satisfactions is undoubtedly the creation of Musemediali with my friend Valentina. It is a project that has always been somewhere in my head but I wouldn’t have imagined that sooner or later it would really come to life. I am very proud of it.
Where would I most like to live? I would like to return to live in Sardinia, my native land. A wonderful island where time flows more slowly and you always feel surrounded by the warmth of people. Now I live in Turin, a city that I love, but I miss the sea. My sea. It has always had a calming effect on me and in front of it my fears seem to become insignificant. Furthermore, in Sardinia I have my family. I am very proud of my origins: they made me who I am.
What is my most treasured possession? I give little value to material goods. On the intangible side, however, my most precious asset is the people I love and love me. For example, friends, my parents, my boyfriend Andrea. I don’t know what I would do without their constant support.
What is my most marked characteristic? I always have my head in the clouds, and people often point that out. I tend to get lost in my thoughts and fantasize about everything. Luckily there is always someone ready to shake me and bring me back down to earth.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? Valentino Park, in the summer, at sunset.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city? There is no particular place. I like to try different places to discover new flavors.
What books influenced my life and how? Too many to decide, I’m a compulsive reader! But if I had to choose, I would say I’m madly in love with Chuck Palahniuk’s books. His writing has greatly influenced mine.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? I have a great passion for Italian songwriters, especially Fabrizio De André, and for the ‘60s and ‘70s rock. On my last day I would like to listen to Patti Smith or the Animals.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Definitely Morgana, from the Matter of Britain.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Artists, dreamers and all those who are actively committed to human rights.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? “Everything is illuminated” (Ogni cosa è illuminata) by Liev Schreiber, adapted from the novel of the same name by Jonathan Safran Foer.
What role plays art in my life and work? More than art, everything that is “artistic” is very important to me. I think creativity inspires further creativity and being surrounded by it is good for the soul.
