The Heroine’s Journey of Irene Felici

What is the best thing that I love about my work? I love the opportunity to get to know and then tell many different realities, stories, lives and people. Deepening every life it’s like doing so many different jobs: today I can tell about a doctor, tomorrow about a farmer, the day after tomorrow we will do an interview with a business man or shoot the life of a designer or a spaceman. You have to know the person and all the reality around him, perfectly, like yours .
What is my idea of happiness? I really believe that happiness is a very simple concept, more than we think. For me happiness means achieve goals listening to one’s own passions; means make sure
you have a quiet life, always lucid and aware of who and what is around us. I’m not saying I can apply this method or that it’s simple but I think it’s correct. It’s not easy because we think too much instead of acting.
What is my greatest fear? The fear of dying before I leave something important in this world.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? The control that I try to exercise in every situation of my life.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire? I think Woody Allen
What is my greatest extravagance? When I stop in a room for more than a few minutes everything must be perfect and cozy as if it were the set of a movie. So I start ordering and operating maniacally to create the right atmosphere.
On what occasion would I lie? In order to not hit someone maybe I would omit something.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Why do we have to assemble and disassemble the set? Can’t everything always be magically ready?
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I think during one of my business trip, the moment around an indian beach, in Kochi. I had never seen such a different culture before.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I would probably like to live life more lightly in certain situations.
What is my greatest achievement in work? The invitation to the Rome Film Festival to talk about the figure of the woman. Also the first projection of our docufilm.
Where would I most like to live? I’d love to live in a quiet mountain village, but I actually know I’d miss the big city.
What is my most treasured possession? At the moment, health.
What is my most marked characteristic? Maybe my determination in not postponing things.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? I think my home balcony in Milan, on the 8th floor.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city? All those places where there’s a good staff that I know and who loves his business.
What books influenced my life and how? Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. It was a gift from my elementary school teacher. It was a nice lesson in freedom and how to get it. I don’t remember anything of this book but I remember that it’s change my point of view.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Maybe a piece of Agnes Obel to die with serenity: Broken Sleep (the title it’s almost a contradiction).
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Serena van der Woodsen (it’s true ahah)
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Every member of my family and my best friends are heroes in some way.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Nostalghia by Andrej Tarkovskij
What role play stories in my life and work? We’re always looking for stories and then I make sure we tell them in the best possible way so that everyone knows them.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me? Remember the most important moments of your life because then you will have to tell it to your children and grandchildren. I believe that the meaning of life is to remain even after death, through the memory of others.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My boyfriend… and my mom!
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2021? Can I dream? National Geographic and The Walt Disney Studios
Which people in my profession who can make a real difference in my creative career would i love to meet in 2021? I don’t want to mention anyone in particular. But I say that any person interested in creating something beautiful, without personal interest and speculation, could make a difference.
What project, in 2021, am I looking forward to work on? We are working on a series of documentaries on the subject of cloistering, not just as a religious issue.
Where can you see me or my work in 2021? Around important and international festivals, I hope.
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? Passion moves all everyday, in work and private life. Even when it seems to us that the passion is turned off, really, we just have to find it inside us. When, for example, we do a job that makes us feel a little bit frustrated, it means that we haven’t listened to the passion. It’s a kind of guide that moves our lives and allows us to do right
choices.

Which creative heroines should Peter invite to tell their story?
Chiara Abramo. She’s an italian artist, very talented.
