What is the best thing that I love about my work? What I love most about my job is that it makes me forget everything. When I paint I enter another world, in a parallel dimension where the rational part of the brain turns off, every thought is canceled and I let myself be carried away by my hands and emotions. You can see my paintings and how I paint in this video:
What is my idea of happiness?Happiness is following your dreams and making them come true
What is my greatest fear? A mental or disabling disease that prevents me from creating and expressing myself
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? I am a perfectionist, in my job always try to achieve the best optimal result. I’m working on myself to try to let go more and not keep everything under control
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? All the people who are not afraid to believe fully in their artistic project and to carry it forward, who defy conventions, who get up after doors slammed in their faces, who always look ahead
What is my greatest extravagance? My greatest extravagance is to have painted all the animals that have always been in my head: it’s as if I had projected on canvas all the creatures that live inside me
On what occasion would I lie? I’d be lying if I lost respect for the person in front of me
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? When I have to do something that is imposed on me: in my art I want to be free to express myself as I really want, without telling me what to do and how to do it, without thinking about the judgment of others
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I like to paint in the middle of nature barefoot: the contact with the earth gives me an incredible energy
If I could, what would I change about myself? I wouldn’t change anything. I have done a long introspective work on myself and I have learned to accept and love myself as I am, aesthetically, temperamentally and in the soul
What is my greatest achievement in work? My solo exhibition Tiliguerta, which I did in Cagliari in September 2020, where I exhibited the series of hyperrealistic paintings dedicated to the endemic animals of my land: Sardinia. It’s an exhibition that I worked on for two years, after a long research project: I consulted texts, I studied the various species and their characteristics, I found a large amount of images, I visited protected areas, forests, natural habitats, and then I painted the subjects that attracted me
Where would I most like to live? It’s very difficult to answer this question because two personalities live in me. The one who loves the social life would undoubtedly choose Paris: I find it a fascinating, charming and elegant and city. The one who loves the wild life would live in a small house in the woods, near a river, surrounded by animals
What is my most treasured possession? My eyes, my hands and my vivid imagination
What is my most marked characteristic? I am a optimistic and smiling person, I transmit positive energy to people I love
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? In my city there are big ponds with flamingos: I love cycling along the ponds and admiring them
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city? In my town there is a very long beach with many bars and restaurants where you can eat spaghetti with seafood, fresh fish and drink a good glass of wine or simply have an aperitif while watching the sea at sunset
What books influenced my life and how? “Women who run with the wolves” by Clarissa Pinkola Estes: it put me in touch with my most authentic part, with the wild woman inside me, it has freed me from schemes, wrong beliefs, it made me understand who I am and what I really want
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? November Rain by Gun’s Roses. It’s a decadent song, it makes me think about death, about the pain you feel when you lose something you really love
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? The wild woman from the book “Women who run with wolves”, although it is not a novel but a guide-book that every woman should read to know herself
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? All the female artists of history, from Artemisia Gentileschi to Rosalba Carriera, Tamara de Lempicka, Natal’ja Gončarova, Sonia Delaunay, Frida.
They lived in a time hostile to women, they were able to create, to impose their art, to defend strenuously the extraordinary quality of their painting, they have broke all the rules to win glory and freedom
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?“Begin again”: I loved the passion that the protagonist has for her music, the free way and outside the logic of the market in which she creates and produces it. The ending won me over: when she decides to give the world what she has created, without having anything in return.
What role play stories in my life and work? I like to tell on the canvas my inner world, my vision of the reality that surrounds me and even when it seems that I reproduce a subject in a realistic way, in reality I am telling a lot of myself
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me? Life is like a blank canvas: we can look at that canvas for hours remaining eternal undecided or take brush and colors and start painting it. The result in any case will surprise you.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My biggest sponsor is the tenacity and the perseverance that help me to rise from every defeat, to enjoy the results achieved and to set higher and higher goals.
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2021? I am ambitious and I would like to exhibit my paintings in prestigious galleries in the most important cities in the world.
Which people in my profession who can make a real difference in my creative
career would i love to meet in 2021? I would like to meet art managers, art gallery owners and curators who believe in my art and artistic project and guide me to the best opportunities.
What project, in 2021, am I looking forward to work on? My personal exhibition Tiliguerta will become a traveling exhibition in Sardinia.
Where can you see me or my work in 2021? In Sardinia with the travelling exhibition Tiliguerta, in Italy with the exhibitions dedicated to the anniversary of Dante’s Divine Comedy, in which I will exhibit a lion painted with gold leaf applications. I should have exhibited also in London and Paris with the traveling exhibition of the competition Arte nuragica / Contemporanea in which I was among the winners, but for the Covid these exhibitions were suspended
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? It’s fundamental for me to dedicate myself to my passions, to what I love: it gives me energy, excites me, it gives me strong emotions, it makes me feel complete.
