Just trust yourself. Then you will know how to live – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Bestselling author Anna Quindlen had a prestigious and cushy job as a columnist and editor with the New York Times. She was clearly on the fast track to a long and successful career as a journalist. While on a long walk in the countryside, she had an epiphany. What she really wanted to do was write a novel and work out of her home. What was holding her back from her dream? The safety and security of her job. She decided to go for her dream, and it has paid off.
Where you are and what you are (and how much money you make or don t have) are a result of the choices you have made. That means what you chose to focus your talent on, the medium you decided to work in, the projects you accepted and did not accept, and how you spent your most valuable asset – your time.
Let us face it, we all have made some poor choices in our past. But we have also made lots of good ones, too. We should learn from our mistakes but not dwell o them. The goal is to have a dream and make choices that support it. Focus on the future and make smart choices each and every day. Little decisions do make a difference, too. You will make hundreds of decisions a day, and over time, they add up. You probably think it is the major decisions that matter most. Oh, they matter, but so do minor ones. Just focusing on the things in front of you and making good choices about how to make and manage your money can mean the difference between wealth and welfare. Anyone can become wealthy. Anyone! So, why does not everyone do it? They choose not to. What? Think about it. We all know we have to spend less than we earn and save and invest the rest. Simple. So why do we not do it? We choose not to. If you were to cut back, live simply and forgo a few luxuries, you could start to make a dent in your debt, put some money away, invest in the stock market, or finance a project or business that could make you millions.
