What is the best thing that I love about my work?  

– Le nombre infini de possibilités, l’imagination n’a pas de limite.

– Pour moi, le vrai bonheur est de trouver sa place, son seuil de contentement, quand on a besoin de ni plus ni moins que ce qu’on a.

– Perdre ceux que j’aime.

– Xavier Dolan, Coline Serreau, Robert Guédiguian, Cédric Klapish  et beaucoup d’autres …. Ceux qui savent observer le monde autour d’eux.

What is my greatest extravagance?  

– Je ne suis pas quelqu’un de très extravagant, mais j’aime vivre des moments extrêmes au travers de mes personnages.

– I’m not a very extravagant person… but I take a real pleasure to live extravagant moments through the characters I create.

On what occasion would I lie?  

-Quand j’étais enfant, je mentais tout le temps … ça m’a pris longtemps pour comprendre la différence entre mentir et raconter des histoires. Maintenant que l’imagination est mon métier, je ne mens plus, je raconte des histoires!

-When I was a child, I was a big lier, that took me years to understand the difference between lying and telling stories. Now my imagination is my profession, so I never lie anymore, I’m telling stories.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?  

– Le monde du cinema et celui de la littérature sont très fermés, pour y entrer il faut souvent plus de contacts que de talent, c’est malheureux!

– The writing and cinema´s world are very closed. Usually you need more contacts than talent… I deplore that fact.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?  

– Au moment où l’histoire prend vie, quand ce n’est plus moi qui l’écris mais les personnages qui me la soufflent à l’oreille.

– This wonderful moment when a story comes to life, when I’m not writing anymore, I just translate what the characters whisper to me.

If I could, what would I change about myself?  

– je suis épileptique, cet inconvénient a joué un rôle important dans ma vie, je m’en débarrasserais bien!

-I suffer from epilepsy, I dream about getting rid of this disadvantage.

What is my greatest achievement in work?  

– L’année dernière, j’ai préparé un film à zéro budget. Finalement il ne s’est jamais fait, mais étrangement, ça a été une de mes meilleures expériences parce que c’est là que j’ai compris ce que je voulais vraiment faire. Et pouvoir réunir tous les besoins d’un film par le seul biais de l’échange de service ça a été une formidable victoire.

– One year ago I had prepared a movie with 0€ budget . Finally I didn’t make it, but in a strange way, that was my best accomplishment because all this work teached me what I really want to do. And find all the needs for making a movie, just by exchanges of services , was an amazing victory.

Where would I most like to live? 

– Je vis déjà dans un endroit parfait, dans les montagnes du Jura, juste au dessus d’un superbe lac.

– I already live in the perfect place, on the Jura’s mountains, on a top of a wonderful lake.

What is my most treasured possession?

– Un très beau bureau des années 20, véritable oeuvre d’art que mon mari ébéniste m’a offert.

– A wonderful desk from the 20s, a real piece of art that my husband, who’s a cabinet maker, offers to me.

What is my most marked characteristic?

– La solitude … j’aime être seule pour mieux rêver!

– A coté de chez moi, il y a un chemin qui mène à un point de vue sublime sur le lac et les montagnes environnantes.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

– Je vis dans un tout petit village isolé, il n’y a pas de bar mais un petit restaurant de chasseur où on mange les meilleures cuisses de grenouilles du monde.

-I live in a remote village, there is no bar but a small hunters’ restaurant where you can eat the best frog legs of the world.

What books influenced my life and how?

– L’oeuvre complète de Barjavel m’a appris qu’un auteur ne doit jamais se limiter, toucher à tous les sujets, écouter son imagination et faire confiance au lecteur …

– Barjavel’s work teach me that an author never had limited himself, he should approach all subjects, be attentive to his imagination and trust his readers.

Who are my favorite writers?

– Barjavel encore, pour la force de l’imagination. Mais l’auteur qui m’a le plus touchée est Marcel Pagnol, mon héros d’enfance.

-Barbara. On m’a donné mon nom en hommage à cette chanteuse formidable.

– Les chevaliers de la Table ronde, leur légende m’a toujours fascinée.

– Srdja Popovic, révolutionnaire pacifique qui utilise sa propre expérience contre Milosevic pour parcourir le monde et aider d’autres peuples à se défendre de la dictature par la non violence.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? 

– « La belle verte », de Coline Serreau, parce que ce film est à la fois une comédie et un film engagé qui parle d’espoir et de futur. On en ressort avec l’envie de parler avec son voisin.

– Tellement de gens … Tout de suite je pense à Xavier Dolan parce que j’aime  vraiment ses films, ses choix de sujets, son énergie … et il est si jeune!

– So much people … Right now, I’m thinking about Xavier Dolan because I really love his movies, his subjects, his energy … And he’s so young!

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on?  

– Je travaille pour une compagnie de production où les auteurs fonctionnent en famille. Cette année, j’ai travaillé, de près ou de loin, sur beaucoup de scripts géniaux et j’ai vraiment hâte de voir ce qu’ils vont donner à l’écran. Et je vais (enfin) écrire le troisième tome de « La table des braves », mon premier roman. Ces dernières années j’en ai eu très envie sans en trouver le temps, j’ai noirci beaucoup de brouillons et il me tarde de rassembler tout ça!

-I work for a production company where the writers are like a family. This year I worked, from near and far, on a lot of amazing scenarios and i can’t wait to see what they will be on a screen. And I am writing the third part of my novel « la table des braves ». This lasts a few years, I really wanted to continue it, but I can’t find the time, so I wrote a lot of ideas on a lot of piece of papers … I look forward to putting all this in one story!

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? 

– Je ne crois pas que la passion de l’écriture puisse s’éteindre, pour moi ce qu’on appelle « passion » est plus un besoin, comme manger ou respirer. Quand j’étais plus jeune, j’ai essayé d’éteindre ce feu pour choisir une voix plus facile, mais ça m’a toujours rattrapé!

– I don’t believe that passion of writing could disappear. For me, what we called « passion » is more a need, like eat or breathe. When I was younger, i tried to extinguish this fire, but that always catches up with me.
