What is the best thing that I love about my work? The best thing probably is that I am able to touch people with what I am doing. To inspire them, to allow them to step into another dimension, to see, feel and dream. Perhaps even to lead someone on his or her way. I love being connected with the beings I am allowed to paint and to delve into that own kind of magic.
What is my idea of perfect happiness? Perfect happiness is the ability to feel the glory of the very moment and to enjoy it. It does not matter how big or small that moment is, it just matters that you are able to feel it. Perfect happiness is a feeling of pure bliss and it all gets warm and fuzzy inside and around you.
What is my greatest fear? I have to admit that I do have quite a few fears though. Anyway, you would want to know my greatest fear. Phew … probably it is to fail somehow. A reason why I am judging myself that critically.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? That I am too harsh towards myself. I am actually working on that one, as there is no sense of being harsh and overcritical towards yourself.
Which living persons in my profession do I most admire? There is not one … there are many. All artists, all persons who are brave enough walking their way, no matter what others might say, no matter what obstacles are in their ways, no matter how hard it might be … they just go, stumble, brush off the dust and keep on walking -those people I do admire!
What is my greatest extravagance? I am living in a nice flat in a beautiful surrounding with my best friend and our five wonderful cats. I have food and a roof above my head, I can pay my bills and I am able to do what I love. I think that is my greatest extravagance.
On what occasion would I lie? You really want me to tell the truth here? Really? Well … I would lie if, for any reason, this would be for the higher best of the person concerned or my own health.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Sometimes it is really annoying me that people tend to think that you are not a real artist, just because you are painting digitally and not in a traditional way. I used to paint traditionally but switched to digital several years ago as I really did run out of storage for all the paintings and the money spend is another thing. So I would say this and the shipping period. It is always nerve wracking to wait if your painting arrives safely or not.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? Whenever I am painting and delving into those energies and whenever I did finish a painting and am happy with it.
If I could, what would I change about myself? Being less critical about myself.
What is my greatest achievement in work? First of all – to see how far you have come with all the work you have done and all the passion you have used to enhance your techniques and works. Second: It is wonderful to know that work of mine is in Canada, the US, Australia and other parts of the whole wide world. This is amazing to know!
Where would I most like to live? I always dreamed about living in the UK and/or Ireland. I still would love to live there – in part time though. Some months there or a couple of visits in a year – yes, that’d be nice.
What is my most treasured possession? It is nothing in material. It is love given to me.
What is my most marked characteristic? Don’t annoy me when I am hungry! Really, I can get bitchy and not nice. Also I am no morning person – I first need a bit of time for myself in the morning and then you can start talking to me.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? I would say the nature here. Where I do live are green hills, many woods and a lot of sky. It often reminds me of Ireland. You sometimes have the feeling that you’d be able to touch the sky, so close it does appear.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? Oh, well … that depends on my mood. We do have some nice restaurants here. I do like to go to the Chinese restaurant by and then, love Italian food and German food for sure. In fact I don’t have a preferred place to eat and drink.
What books influenced my life and how? Fantasy books. I started reading fantasy books when I was young. I think I do have to blame my brother for that. They opened my mind for all that is beyond what is called reality.
Who are my favorite writers? My favourite writers are Tad Williams with his Dragonbone Throne saga; Terry Pratchett; David Eddings; J.K. Rowling and some more.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Says who? I don’t believe in one life though – however, I think something nice. I do love Amazing Grace, but it should be in a very good version. Perhaps ‘Swing ‘lo sweet chariot’ … as I do believe that I am going home when leaving this body. I really did not think about it yet.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I really do like Seoman in Tad Williams Dragonbone throne saga – if you don’t know these books, I really recommend you to read them. I don’t have any explicit hero or heroine though.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? My heroine is my mother. She never had an easy life and made the best out of it & there are those, who stand up for their believes; who make their ways; who don’t give up; those who fight against illnesses … there are so many heroes and heroines in real life – you just have to be open enough to recognize them.
Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime? The Lord of the Rings – extended cut & of course The Hobbit (extended). I do have to admit that they turned out great and it really is a must see, at least according to my opinion.
What role plays art in my life and work? A HUGE role! Art is freedom & bliss.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? Partner in crime is my best friend and co-artist Rowan Lewgalon. Sponsor? Uhm … this place is still vacant (hint) & my greatest fan? I really have no clue. He or she never revealed to me.
Whom would I like to work with in 2018? I stay with Rowan Lewgalon here & I would have nothing against a co-operation with a publisher.
Which people in my profession would I love to meet in 2018? I really would love to meet a few fellow artists – but I know they all do live far away though. However, I would love to meet Isabelle Dumont this year, as we could not meet last year.
What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? Some oracle card deck works; writing and probably a self-publishing idea.
Where can you see me or my work in 2018? There is no exhibition planned but you can always find me on Instagram; Facebook and our Etsy shop.
What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? Passion is something you do carry within you – all the time. It is not a matter of age. It also means that passion never rests – it is and can always be part of your life. You can feed the passion and nurture it by doing what you love and thus giving it a place in your own life.
Which creative heroines should Peter invite to tell their story? I hope to see as many female creative heads as possible. However, I think Peter should invite Rowan Lewgalon, Janna Prosvirina, Isabelle Dumont, Coriander Shea, Maria William, Linzi Fay, Katerina, Koukiotis, Kim Dreyer & Monika Holloway and many others.

The Heroine’s Journey Membership
Become a Friend of The Heroine’s Journey

We’re sometimes not too sure how we get into good friendships. It seems to happen rather mysteriously: we talk of somewhat randomly ‘clicking’ with people. Trying to plan for it sounds like cheating. But in a busy world, the desire to socialise authentically, with interesting, like-minded people, deserves to be addressed directly.
That’s why we created The Heroine’s Journey Friends scheme. Membership gives you the right to invite creative professionals to publish their story for free on The Heroine’sJourney online. Each story made possible by you is anchored around the big idea that when we our quest let’s us travel from a person who interests us to another person who interest them and exchange stories we learn more about ourselves, meet people who can make a difference for you and have more impact in the world with telling our story. Every month, in your own city or somewhere in the world you can invite creative professionals you like to tell their story for the Heroine’s Journey website.
If you have passion for your work, you will find kindred spirits in this way of travelling. The stories you will see of creative professionals you have invited for The Heroine’s Journey are guaranteed to be stimulating and reassuring – as well as prompts to genuine connection and insight. Every creative professional you bring forward to have their story free published on The Heroine’s Journey online, you will be offering a great experience to everyone you meet.
