What is the best thing that I love about my work? The time before, during and after writing : writing is in my mind all the time in my life, even when I’m not with my computer or a notebook. I love to bring with me, in my head, my characters ! And sharing, with people who read me, their opinion and feelings about my stories.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? To feel the connection with people I love or I fall in love or in friendship.

What is my greatest fear? A serious sickness or death of my daughter. I’m so terrified about this idea that I can’t read books about parents who have suffered this tragedy.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? I feel better about that now but during long years I was too involved in the way of people judged and saw me. I think I lost time, even if I think each moment, each problem helps to grow.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? I admire all people who do something, who try, as professional or amateur. I admire a writer, a photographer, a gardener, a fleurist, a painter, each person who is so brave to show and share his creative work.

What is my greatest extravagance? Probably when I’m able to say to some people, ladies and gentlemen, how I feel them attractive (love, sex or friendship) to me.
On what occasion would I lie? When I think it’s not useful to tell truth. I think we have to choose our fights. So sometimes I don’t tell truth to keep peace, or not to hurt someone who is not ready to heard some truth… Sometimes it’s not the right time et it’s better to wait for.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? The fact that being a writer in France doesn’t pay enough. I have too work in a alimentay job and my personal time to write, think, meet people, try experiences is reduced.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? The first day I decided that writing stories and found time and courage to do it for the rest of my life ! I was with a good friend of mine, in a bar in Marseille, Le Bar de la Marine. It was a Friday night, four years ago. I chose at this moment my true way.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I’d like to be less cerebral. I think I lost time because of my brain ! And I have to admit sometimes I’m not up.
What is my greatest achievement in work? Fullness and serenity. And share with other people feelings, opinions, pleasure, emotions.
Where would I most like to live? In a city that doesn’t sleep ! I’d love to live in NYC, especially in Brooklyn. I have the fantasy of going down from my flat and take an espresso before writing in a smart place or at home. But I’d like too to live near sea or ocean, for example in Key West or near la Dune du Pyla next to Arcachon (France).
What is my most treasured possession? My own life ! And my energy.
What is my most marked characteristic? Being someone with a strong, a whole character.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? In my personal office at home. Or in a bar in front of the old harbour (Vieux-Port) in Marseille. And next to my future place, just in front of sea and harbour.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? I love eating and drinking in beautiful bars in luxury hotels. But I like too having just a pizza with a glass of wine, feet in the sand at the beach !
What books influenced my life and how? I feel changed after reading about people who lived a passion. Especially women who choose their own life even if other people critized their choice. The last book I felt so emotional was « Arrête avec tes mensonges », from Philippe Besson. I was crying at the end and I felt asleep with tears.
Who are my favorite writers? Virginie Despentes, Douglas Kennedy, Colette, Françoise Sagan, Joël Dicker, Georges Simenon, Ernest Hemingway, Michel Houellebecq, Marc Dugain, Stieg Larsson, Marguerite Duras, Paul Auster, Delphine de Vigan…
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? Saint-Germain, Tourist. It’s the song I have been sharing with my husband since the beginning of our love story.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? In fiction, I admire one character, who is in a prehistoric saga, « Les enfants de le terre », from Jean M. Auel. Ayla probably is the first feminist character! She is a young girl and lady who have to fight to stay alive but she is still brave against mens or animals.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? In real life, I admire people who made choices and who have their own opinion, even if it’s complicated. Even if they made mistakes. Even if they sometimes lie. People who choose their own road. Like Françoise Giroud for example. People who stay nice and sweet in fight.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? « Thelma et Louise » : because it’s about freedom or the idea of freedom. It’s still very actual.
« Out of Africa »: because it’s the story of freedom pour ladies and for gentlemen!
What role plays art in my life and work? I always listen music: when I work, when I write, when I’m cooking, when I make love, when I drive, when I do sport. I love having many and many books to read. I need to follow life of characters in series. Photography and painting and sculpture help me too. I think human beings need to be confronted of beauty to become better and better.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My husband, my friends, my daughter and my cat.
Whom would I like to work with in 2018? My dream is to be contacted by an actress like Juliette Binoche or a scenarist: « We’d like to make a movie with your story ». I dream of this kind of message!
Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018? I feel very shy to meet people I admire in literature. But I’d like to meet Virginie Despentes. Many and many questions to ask!
What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? Honestly I don’t want to have dating challenges. I just want to write, finish my book I’m writing now, meet people about the last one « Une illusion parfaite », and keep on going the other ideas I have.
