What’s the best thing I love about my job?

I am a curator of art and photography and the thing I absolutely love in my work is being able to give life to artistic projects, materialising in reality through exhibitions of both art and photography

What’s my idea of happiness?

My idea of happiness without appearing rhetorical is given by the art, the beauty that I live every day with my work

What’s my biggest fear?

My greatest fear is not death but the loss of the people close to me and who are close to me every day, supporting me in what I do

What is the trait I most regret in myself?

I’m perfectionist by nature, so I demand that others be too, I can’t always accept people’s times and I lose patience

Which living people in my profession do I admire the most?

There are many of them, to mention them all would be very long, I certainly admire all the artists with whom I have worked all these years and I thank them for this

What’s my biggest extravagance?

To be myself always, basically the greatest form of nonconformism is to be absolutely conformist

On what occasion would I lie?

No. I can’t lie and I can’t stand who does it, for me intellectual honesty comes before anything else

What’s the thing I don’t like most about my job?

I would say the expectations, the answers that are late to arrive, the unnecessary delays

When and where was I happiest in my job?

I am always happy when I work wherever I am, for me every place is a source of inspiration for my projects, whether they are of art or photography, no matter the place but the when

If I could, what would I change about myself?

My being extremely precise, I should be more patient and tolerant but my disposition is to never stand still, my mind is a continuous project to be realized

What’s my biggest success at work?

The biggest success is when my exhibitions materialize, the adrenaline goes out and I already think of something new

Where would I like to live the most?

In my beloved Sicila, my father was from Palermo and for me that land represents the whole thing.

What is my most precious asset?

In addition to work, my private personal sphere that I share every day with the person I love

What is my most marked feature?

Determination, if I decide something, I have to do it, at all costs.

What is the place that inspires me the most, in my city?

My favorite corner is the botanical garden of Brera, my place of the heart, where I can take refuge when I feel like being alone with my thoughts

What’s my favorite place to eat and drink in my town?

To eat I would say La Voliera in Via Crema, a place of a dear friend that I have known for years, to drink on the Terrace of the Triennale

What books influenced my life and how?

There have been many books, since I was studying, what certainly led me to decide to be the curator was Marshall McLuhan’s book The Tools of Communicating, reading it opened up a unique world of beauty for me

You only die once. What music would I listen to on my last day?

I have no doubt the Bolero of Ravel

Who’s my hero or heroine in fiction?

My hero is Daniele Sperelli in D’Annunzio’s Pleasure and my heroine is Cécile de Volanges in Pierre-Ambroise’s Liasons Dangereuses- François Choderlos de Laclos

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

In real life my hero, apart from my father, is a painter that I have always loved and who has been a great family friend Rodolfo Viola, my heroine is the legendary Marilyn Monroe

What role do stories play in my life and work?

Everything that happens to us is a lived story that is worth telling. There are no limits, all our experience and our living can be matter to give life to projects, I take inspiration from everything from everyday to nocturnal dreams

What do the words “You are the narrator of your own life” tell me?

I decide what story I want to narrate, no one else but myself is able to do this, I have no leaders to report to.

Who is my biggest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

I’d say my mother has always been my first fan, then my whole family of course. With my husband we work in symbiosis although with distinct roles: I am the curator, he is the artist.

Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2021?

For 2021 I would like to be able to work again with a person that I hold in great respect and with a space that has remained in my heart.

Which people in my profession who can really make a difference in my creative career would I like to meet in 2021? In 2021 I would like to be able to work with many artists and photographers both Italian and foreign, as I am already doing and with whom I am weaving relationships that I hope will consolidate.

What project, in 2021, can’t wait to work on?

In 2021 I am already working on a great project that includes three exhibitions of contemporary art with over fifty artists both national and international and that will see me engaged for a whole year in three different municipalities and with different institutional offices.
