The Heroine’s Journey of Elisa James

What is the best thing that I love about my work? I love being able to help people break through their emotional, physical and mental blockages to selfexpression. When people have a cathartic release and a break through during our sessions, I am so overwhelmed with happiness for them to be able to have more freedom in their lives.

What is my idea of perfect happiness? Peace in my heart, knowing that I am fulfilled by my life’s work and leaving the world a better place by helping people when they need it the most.

What is my greatest fear? Losing all the people I love the most in the world. Loss is hard..

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? My lack of organisation skills and my overwhelming drive to do more and more and more…… it runs me into the ground sometimes.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? Per Bristow, Lisa Nichols and Lisa Sasevich for following their hearts and going big!

What is my greatest extravagance? Foot massages from time to time! I love it. It feels so decadent to pamper myself like that.

On what occasion would I lie? To not hurt someone’s feelings. What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? That people ask things of me at all hours of the day and night – I find it hard to keep up with demands sometimes no matter how much I want to help.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
Wow… moment by moment there have been many times:
1. On stage singing my one-woman Cabaret and the show was going well! … or
2. On camera in an acting scene when the emotions were just flowing naturally, or
3. ON stage teaching a workshop when I could see moments of breakthrough on people’s faces… and
4. When people thank me for changing their lives for the better after a class or presentation!

If I could, what would I change about myself? I would be taller, with smaller boobs!

What is my greatest achievement in work? Changing peoples lives, leaving behind people I have influenced and inspired. Having had an amazing long career in show business which has taken me to dozens of countries all around the world. The fact that I have performed in SO many different spaces: Duos, Trios, 9 piece bands, 20 piece Orchestras, Session Singer for famous Pop stars, Session singer for radio and TV shows, Headline Cabaret Act on cruise ships, Pop Star momentarily, award-winning songwriter, working actor in film and TV. I feel so blessed to have achieved so much.

Where would I most like to live? Everywhere! I am a global citizen of the world and have lived in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, QLD, Amsterdam Holland, Nice France, and the USA… all of which I loved. I think is most sensible thing is to buy one home each of the areas I love – the USA, Australia and Europe… just to cover all bases!

What is my most treasured possession? My bird… Hermis!

What is my most marked characteristic? Driven, Persistent, Diligent, Kind, Compassionate…

What is my most inspirational location, in my city? The Gold Coast – probably Mackintosh Island Park because of the myriad of birds that live there, the running
waters through the park and the roar of the ocean right next door. = Peace of mind. … space to create..

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? Hot Shot – our local cafe

What books influenced my life and how? Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Ekhart Tolle, Dalai Lama, The Road Less travelled by Scott Peck… so many personal growth books that I read through my 20s and 30s that set me on the right path away from anxiety and chaos
and into a space of more balance, well being and peace.

Who are my favorite writers? All of those authors above in the personal development field, including Brendon Burchard, plus my two favoutie childhood authors for their kooky characters, crazy imagination and wild twists and turns: Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl. Timeless!

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? The Sound of Music soundtrack– with Julie Andrews singing. The most glorious, pure voice that ever lived.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I don’t read fiction… so I don’t know. I only read personal growth, spiritual growth, books for University studies and nutrition etc.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? Easy – Louise Hay, Maya Angelou, Opra, Meryl Streep, Maggie Smith, Dame Judy Dench, Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, and any strong, graceful woman who has overcome adversity and trauma and become a better person because of it. Strong women have been through much and share their wisdom and experience with the world graciously.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Amelie… Cause French Film makers are the best! Real, quirky, creative and unique.

What role plays art in my life and work? My life is one big artwork… I create constantly – music, poetry, classes, courses, videos, programs, websites,
workbooks, teaching materials, books, …. It is my whole world. Art-Life.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime? My husband Peter
