The Heroine’s Journey of Claudia Natale

What is the best thing that I love about my work?

The best think that I love about my work is that, I can speak with people and that with my creativity I can awaken their creativity. My job isn’t the same every day, It depends on the project and on the phase of the project. I put my business skills at the service of my dreams to create Art and make myself and other people happy. Through Art I can turn joy and pain into creative energy.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

Happiness for me is when someone can completely express themselves through creativity. When a person experiences a feeling or they have a desire and don’t to listen to themselves and don’t express themselves, they become nervous and negative and dangerous for society. Happiness is to be in peace with oneself and with others.

What is my greatest fear?

My greatest fear is regret. I am afraid that I won’t have time to do all that I dream of doing. Also, that I can disappoint myself and my expectations, which are very high.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

In myself I deplore the fear of winning. For example, when I can arrive to ten and I’m at nine, I make a mistake and I return to seven. This isn’t by chance, it’s the demonstration of my fear of winning.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

I admire Will Smith because he is a wonderful actor and a great motivator.

What is my greatest extravagance?

For me, my life is normal but for other people it is extravagant. I’m a very free woman; I’m very disciplined with myself and very uncompromising but I don’t want others to impose rules for me. I want to decide for myself; I can say that all my life is particular.

On what occasion would I lie?

When I don’t like the show of a friend of mine and they ask me what I think about it.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

In my work I dislike the fact that I haven’t got a lot of time for myself and in fact I haven’t got a boyfriend, for example.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

When I met Susan Batson in New York. Susan Batson is the Nicole Kidman’s coach, among other stars. That day she worked from 2:00 pm until 02:00 am no stop. I fell in love and I was enchanted; she pulls the soul out of actors. In the class one young German actor cried, he undressed and screamed to his father that he wanted his freedom. After the lesson, I gave him some Stonehenge grass, which I had with me as a lucky charm. It was very, very, exciting and I love my job because it allows me to have these experiences!

If I could, what would I change about myself?

In another life I would be like a butterfly and not like a lion. I would be more feminine, kinder and quieter, like a princess. My friends say about me that I’m a hurricane, a volcano for my energy but this isn’t always good for me. I would like to show myself more vulnerable, sometimes. To learn to say: “No. I must stop and rest now.”

What is my greatest achievement in work?

My Acting and Creativity School, the “Imprenditori di Sogni School. “The young artists’ pole” has been one of my dreams since I was 15 years old.

Where would I most like to live?

In Rome. I discovered it after i had been to London and New York.

What is my most treasured possession?

Honestly, I do not care for my objects, they are useful, they serve me, like money to protect my loved ones. But I think that the treasures in my life are Yuri and Roberta, my partners in my project “Imprenditori di Sogni” because, like me, they believe in our dreams and we work as a team every day to achieve them.

What is my most marked characteristic?

Enthusiasm.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

I was born in Naples. Naples inspires me, the bridge of Castel dell’Ovo, the sea and the rocks and Naples’s gulf by night with the light reflecting on the water and on the skyline.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

Naples is the street food city; in every place you can eat good pizza, pasta, fantastic fried food and other Neapolitan specialties.

What books influenced my life and how?

When I was at the school, Latin and Greek poems by Catullo, Orazio, Saffo because they taught me to question myself on human beings. In this period “The Way of Artist” by Julia Cameron because it’s a powerful tool to remove creative blocks.

Who are my favorite writers?

My favourite writers are poets in general. I particularly love Pablo Neruda.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

Four Season by Vivaldi.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

Will Smith in “The Pursuit of the Happiness”.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

My historical idol is Alexander The Great. My guide is the philosopher Daisaku Ikeda, Soka Gakkai’s president, the world Buddhist association for nuclear disarmament. But as a woman I have a passion for Evita Peron’s life and her love for her people.

What role plays art in my life and work?

It’s everything. I want my best work to be my own life.

botticelli-primaveraThe Heroine’s Journey Membership

Become a friend of The Heroine’s Journey for Euro 60 for One Year.

When we are on our heroine’s journey we sometimes believe we are alone. A lot of our creative work as writer, artist, musician, designer is done alone. Sometimes we meet people we have a creative connection with.  It seems to happen rather mysteriously: we talk of somewhat randomly ‘clicking’ with people. Trying to plan for it sounds like cheating. But in a busy world, the desire to socialise authentically, with interesting, passionate, like-minded people, deserves to be addressed directly.

That’s why we created The Heroine’s Journey Friends. Membership gives you access to a year-long series of regular conversation drinks in a city in your country, each one anchored around a big idea we’ll discuss over drinks and food. Every month, in a central venue in Rome, Florence, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Berlin, München, Sevilla, Amsterdam, London, Paris, New York, Brussel, Melbourne or Antwerp, we come together with other members of the diverse and bright community of the The Heroine’s Journey. At each event, you’ll be offered a conversation menu and systematically (and entertainingly) introduced to everyone else in the room. If you enjoy our work, you will find kindred spirits. The evenings are guaranteed to be stimulating and reassuring – as well as prompts to genuine connection and insight.
