What is the best thing that I love about my work?

I love to flow into beauty and creativity, to meet in this way the deep feelings of people I work with and of people listening to the music I play. It’s beautiful to ride emotions and to let them be fire for artistic expression.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

Perfect happiness for me is the sensation of inspiration and connection with the Universe.

What is my greatest fear?

I tend not to have fears but to try to enlarge the space of what I can learn when I feel I’m facing mylimits“.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

I’m in constant transformationwhat I can say now is that I understood late the power of focusing and concentration.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

It’s difficult to choose. There are so many talented and great artists! But I would say Bjork, Laurie Anderson, Victoria Mullova, Marina Abramovic.

What is my greatest extravagance?

For a lot of people the way I live is my greatest extravagance...for me nothing is extravagant, but is simply my spontaneity. And perhaps drinking warm water every morning when I wake up…

On what occasion would I lie?

I try never to lie. Even if I have to say something hard I try to say it kindely.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

Burocracy and rudeness.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

I’m always very happy but expecially when I travel for my work, it’s one of the best ways visiting the wordl.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

I work out to improve my self confidence and organization.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

It’s to live the life I want

Where would I most like to live?

I like to live where I live and to change often. But if I had to change I would love to live by the sea.

What is my most treasured possession?

The material one are my violins, the unmaterialmy love for life.

What is my most marked characteristic?

Versatility, joyful attitude and empathy.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

I love to walk in the citycenter in Bologna, the place I prefere is Piazza Santo Stefano. But also the tranquillity of my home is very inspirational for me.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

Very hard to say in a city so full of places where eat and drink…but I would say “Osteria del Sole” where you can only drink and bring your own food, “Enoteca Giro di vite”, “Ristorante Africano Adal“, and “Fienile Fluò on the beautiful hills in the sorroundings of Bologna.

What books influenced my life and how?

Hermann Hesse “Il lupo della steppa”, Haruki Murakami Dance Dance Dance, Georges I. Gurdjeff Incontri con uomini straordinari, Saramago La Caverna, Boris Vian La schiuma dei giorni“. All this books, in different moments of my life, were very inspiring and gave me a different vision on life, a new poetic point of view and a deeper knowledge of myself.

Who are my favorite writers?

I start reading when I was five, and I never stopped, so the list could be much longer: Jose Saramago, Pierpaolo Pasolini, Haruki Murakami, Stephen King, Lawrence Osborne, Philip K. Dick, Jennifer Egan, Elizabeth Strout, Marina Cvetaeva, Mariangela Gualtieri, Italo Calvino, Reiner Maria Rilkemaybe I forgot someone.

All people working creating peaceful connections and sowing hope and positive vision.

What role plays art in my life and work?

Art is the center of my life and work, because art is not something you “do, but something you “are”.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

My greatest fan and sponsor are my family and my partner. My partner Valerio is also a great “partner in crime” and we have several artistic and creative projects together. Also my friends are great supporters, but also my public at the concerts is often very involved and supportive.

Whom would I like to work with in 2018?

I am very lucky to work always with very beautiful people, who are also my friends. So my hope is to continue like that!

Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018?

There are a lot of beautiful musicians I’d love to work with…looking forward to see the unespected gifts of life!

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on? 

I have many interesting ongoing projectsThe duo “Interiors” with my partner Valerio Corzani which sees often the collaboration with other musicians, the Baroque Chamber Orchestra “Furiosi Affetti” i founded last year, the Modern String QuartetAlboreo“ inspired to Flamenco music, Les Violons d’Ingres, a violin duo with Claudia Cancellotti specialized mostly on contemporary music, the singer and composer Claudio Milano with “Nichelodeon”…I’m very inspired by all these projects and hope they will improve more and more. And then I stay open, maybe something new will arrive!
