What is the best thing that I love about my work?

I’m a singer, guitarist and songwriter. Art and creativity, collaborations and sharings with other musicians and artists are wonderful things of my work, but above all, freedom is the best thing that I love about it.

What is my idea of perfect happiness?

From an artistic perspective, happiness is being satisfied, by sharing with people emotions and my music, and by growing with the exchange of ideas and experiences among people.

What is my greatest fear?

My fear is the loss of interest in music, creativity and art in general.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

Not enough self confidence and the tendence to postpone things I have to do.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?

I admire all the people who go ahead in spite of difficulties and obstacles, continuing to pursue their path, without bending to harmful compromises and preserving their personality. All of them are positive exemples for me not to give up.

What is my greatest extravagance?

I often forget to close things as jars, doors, and sometimes I forget to set off lights. Likewise, I’m asking myself if that’s why I sometimes have troubles in “closing” a song … it’s never as it “should be”.

On what occasion would I lie?

I very rarely lie, when I do it it’s just to protect the person involved in the lie I’m telling.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

In my work I sometimes find envy and jealousy. These are the things that I most dislike.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

I’m completely happy when I play my music in public and the audience listens in silence to every single note. I perceive their/ emotions and I realize that I have reached my goal. Loud applauses finally confirm my sense of happiness.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

I would like to be more self-confident, determined, indifferent to criticism and to the obstacles of this work.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

My work is a path that does not stop. I study continuously to improve the way I play and sing, and I’m always looking for new stimuli to write songs. Every progress I get on this line is an important achievement.

Where would I most like to live?

I really like the city where I’m living now, Turin, full of art and culture, but I would also like to live in a quiet place, silent and surrounded by nature. Having two homes would be the best solution.

What is my most treasured possession?

If you consider a material possession, the answer is my guitars and related gear.

What is my most marked characteristic?

I guess my most marked characteristic is gentleness. Or at least I would like it be like this.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

My most inspirational location is the landscape around.

What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?

I really like a very simple restaurant, it’s a tavern called Coco’s, where you can eat local cuisine. It’s a true place, with no frills, where people are relaxed, the managers and the waiters are really kind and friendly. You can feel at home there, and you can eat so much and well.

What books influenced my life and how?

The Salinger’s book “The catcher in the rye”. I’ve read it when I was thirteen/fourteen and it has influenced my adolescence. The main character became a friend of mine and I felt very much in line with him, so unconventional, but with a deep soul. Moreover I realized how much a book can be a very good company by helping you not to feel alone. And when you’re a teenager you often feel lonely.

Who are my favorite writers?

I really like the literature and the writers of the first twentieth century. In this period I’m reading Sandor Marai, a Hungarian writer. I like his style and his way to tell stories that I find very intense and beautiful.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

I’m a musician, so my answer might seem strange, but I think in some cases silence and the sounds of Nature are the best.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

Einar Wegener, “The Danish Girls”’s movie protagonist, actually not an invented character.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

My heroes and heroines are scientists, artists, people of culture, people who can create or develop something that remains in time, that makes the difference, that changes the points of view.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?

I’d recommend “Wings of Desire” directed by Wim Wenders. The italian title, “Il cielo sopra Berlino”, does not really represents the movie.

What role plays art in my life and work?

In my life and work art plays the main role, of course.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

I would say, no doubt,my boyfriend … but also my best friends and parents play an important role. We are multifaceted gems and it is not possible to find a single person that really matches all our many facets.

Whom would I like to work with in 2018?

It took me several years to understand that my music is a sort of alchemic product. Despite its simplicity it’s difficult to define and replicate. Nearly each time I tried to play with someone we realized that the output was weak. Therefore since is not easy to find musicians that match my style, I’d be very happy to find somebody who can improve my music, above all in live performances.

Which people in my profession would i love to meet in 2018?

I’d love to meet italian jazz musicians like Stefano Bollani and Polo Fresu, but also songwriters that I love and, somehow, that give me inspiration: Fink, an English songwriter and musician, and Ani Di Franco, one of the most famous American folk artists.

What project, in 2018, am I looking forward to work on?

I’m looking for a new album with new songs.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?

You can cross periods when you feel tired, with no energy, discouraged and unproductive. Passion remembers you who you are and why you are doing your work, it’s the energy that allows you to keep going despite the obstacles.

Which creative heroines should Peter invite to tell their story?

I would suggest two artists too much interesting and very different in their styles: Agnese Matteini, a very good painter, a sensible poetess and writer, and Raffaella Spagna, a very creative, somehow enigmatic artist, working with natural elements and group dynamics.
