What is the best thing that I love about my work?
The way it makes me feel: being strongly rooted in life, doing meaningful things, I’m in the right place.
What is my idea of perfect happiness?
I’m calm and peaceful with my beloved ones who are calm and peaceful too. We smile at each other. It is a sunny day. Somewhere a bird is chirping, That’s it!
What is my greatest fear?
Not feeling self confident
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
To have often my mind in the cloud .
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
Roberto Dal Sasso, the owner of “Ceramica Vicentina”. He has a great technical and historical knowledge of ceramic, and has taught to me a lot, actually all I know about ceramic. I owe him a big part of my ceramic adventure.
What is my greatest extravagance?
I have many bizarre thoughts but I think I am funnier than extravagant.
On what occasion would I lie?
To defend my personal sphere from snoopers. However I rarely lie, for there are lots of other ways to get free from those fellows.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
I’m not saying I really dislike what it needs doing to present myself around, with all those bureaucratic papers, as I know that it is very important. Yet I would rather only stay, work, and express myself through ceramic and nothing else.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
Maybe three years ago, I was at Roberto Dal Sasso’s laboratory “Ceramic Vicentina” and I saw for the first time the results of one of my many ceramic experiments while trying to develop my own technique: the result was much better than I expected: the colours had surprising glares and opalescence. That was my technique, eventually I had found it!
If I could, what would I change about myself?
Sometimes I would like to be wiser and less passionate.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
I’ve been able to develop my own technique even in a new work experience.
Where would I most like to live?
I wouldn’t like to live elsewhere, I’m very happy here. Sometime I fantasize to live abroad for six month, one year and then change. I would like that too.
What is my most treasured possession?
My creativity.
What is my most marked characteristic?
My determination to bring out my creativity.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
My town is surrounded by mountains, I have only to look at them.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city?
In my opinion, good company is what makes a difference , for every place with good company could be may favorite one.
What books influenced my life and how?
I don’t know how but my bright side belongs to “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by L. Carroll while my dark side is close to “The Castle” by F. Kafka.
Who are my favorite writers?
Franz Kafka, Fëdor Dostoevskij, Marguerite Yourcenar and Louis-Ferdinand Céline.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
I think that “One German Requiem” by Johannes Brahms would be ok.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
The Pink Panther in the cartoons.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
Surely Gino Strada, the founder of Emergency, an organization which works to provide hospitals and doctors in the poorest and most dangerous places in the world.
Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?
That’s a difficult choice! After thinking hard about it, I decided to recommend “The Kid” by Charles Chaplin.
What role plays art in my life and work?
A great role. Art has always been on top of my interests: it is the highest form of culture, I think. I like visiting, looking at, reading about, listen to and being inspired by Art.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
My two beautiful young daughters.
Whom would I like to work with in 2019?
Recently I had the occasion to design and realize particular ceramic plates and trays for a high level chef. It was very pleasant to decorate such elegant pieces. And I like growing and proceeding in that way so, in 2019, I would like to make new projects together with a star chef.
What project, in 2019, am I looking forward to work on?
I’m looking forward to working on what is still unknown to me.
