The Heroine’s Journey of Audrey L’Ebrellec

What is the best thing that I love about my work?

Being able to tell stories. Travelling and working with a lot of different people.

What is my idea of happiness?

Not having to worry about what tomorrow will bring. Making a living of my art and be surrounded by people I love.

What is my greatest fear?

Not to achieve something that would matter.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

I wish I had more confidence. I am working on it. I have way more confidence than a couple of years ago but it is a slow process.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

Oh so many! Anyone who really go for their dreams and achieve what they set themselves to do however small or big it is.

On what occasion would I lie?

I can’t remember when was the last time I lied. I really really don’t like it. But I guess maybe to protect the ones I love. But it would be only to delay something, I would always end up saying the truth and apologise for lying.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

Auditioning. I try to enjoy it by seeing it as a performance, but I also know that I am being judged and it is never a nice feeling and sometimes it doesn’t help my performance.

Also competition. There are so many talents out there and some artists can be extremely competitive. I have never liked the concept of competition so when I witness it in my work I makes me feel stressed.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

When I am either on set or on stage. I like when I can finally dive into a character and tell a story. Whenever the lights come up or when the first AD shout “Action”. Or on holidays! Away from the internet.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

My confidence. I go through phases. Sometimes I feel I am totally in charge and nothing affects me. But other time I lack of confidence and it affects my mental health.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

Creating my own production company “Alaisiagae Productions” and making my first short film “The Roots of You” happens.

Where would I most like to live?

At the moment I am happy where I live. I am in London but I can very well imagine moving somewhere near the sea in a few years.

What is my most marked characteristic?

Determination. I always come back on my feet. Once I have decided to achieve something, I hold on until it happens. It might take a long time but I always find a way to make it happen.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

Anywhere by the seaside. I find the sea very inspiring and calming.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?

“Cork & Bottle”, it’s an amazing wine bar in London.

What books influenced my life and how?

I might sound cliché but it was “Harry Potter”. I didn’t like reading before discovering those books. Since then I always have a book in my bag.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

“Roar” by Katy Perry

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

Oh I don’t know… Any women figure standing for themselves.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

I am a big fan of all the actions Leonardo DiCaprio and David Attenborough are taking for the planet. I really believe that if we keep living the way we do the planet is going to die and the consequences will be catastrophic. I do what I can at my level of course (recycling, reusing, only buying clothes if I need to and as much as possible eco friendly, avoid some brands, avoid plastic and more), but I wish I could do more.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?

“Rashomon” by Akira Kurosawa

What role play stories in my life and work?

It’s a fuel. A way to travel to a different universe or to learn more about life and myself.

What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?

Everything is in your own hands. No one else will create a story for you, you have to stand up and do whatever makes you happy.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

My partner in crime is Eva-Marie Becker. We have a production company together called “Alaisiagae Productions”. She inspires me a lot and pushes me in places I would have never thought going into!

Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2022?

Passionate people.

What project, in 2022, am I looking forward to work on?

I am wrapping the post production of my first short film “The Roots of You” and then sending it to festivals. It has been a 10 years journey with this story and I can’t wait to let it fly on its own.

I am also pushing myself to write more stories rather than keeping them in my head, so I am currently working on the first draft of my next project and it’s bringing me so much joy.

Where can you see me or my work in 2022?

My last works are currently streaming on Amazon Prime.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?

For me passion is what defines who you are at a certain moment in your life. If your passion retires it doesn’t mean you’re lost, but that you are evolving to something else, to a new path, a new passion and maybe a new you.

Which creative professionals should Peter invite to tell their story?

Eva-Marie Becker, Marta Svetek, Louis Bernard, Naian Gonzáles Norvind, Jes Gislason, Chelsea Marie, Gaelle Pauly, Gemma Wallace
