The Heroine’s Journey of Victoria Sánchez

What is the best thing that I love about my work?
I love the feeling of creation, of bringing something to life from within. The constant reinvention, the act of translating an internal fire into music, movement, or transformation, fills me with purpose. I love seeing people blossom through art and recognizing their potential. I love sharing spaces of expression, and most of all, I love being surprised by the beauty that emerges in every encounter. Music and art are living, evolving beings, and I am in love with that process. That’s what I love most: the process of becoming through art.

What is my idea of happiness?
Being aligned. Feeling fulfilled emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Waking up excited, knowing I am serving others and myself through what I do. Feeling peace and also vitality in what I choose to experience. Happiness is not static for me—it is fluid, like rhythm. And I love dancing with it.

What is my greatest fear?
Not recognizing the beauty of the present moment. Becoming so focused on the future or the outcome that I miss the miracle of the now. Sometimes, my own strength scares me. That it could isolate me. But even that fear I am learning to embrace.

What is the trait that I most admire in myself?
I love that I’m always creating. I can become overwhelmed with work at times, but I know how to say it, how to stop, and I never stop dreaming. I love that feeling of triumph, of victory, of perseverance, and the passion that keeps me moving forward with joy.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?
Eduardo Marturet, conductor of the Miami Symphony Orchestra and my mentor in conducting. He has always guided me with a vision that goes beyond music—it touches the soul and spirituality. He is a lighthouse for me, an example of balance between artistic excellence and inner wisdom.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
The pseudo-artistic leaderships that aren’t cultivated professionally or spiritually, even though there are so many tools available to nourish our knowledge and hearts every single day. Mediocrity disguised as leadership can be very harmful in the arts.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
Every experience is different, and I find joy in all of them. Every orchestra is a person, every project has a soul. Once, I worked with incarcerated women in a prison, and it was one of the most nourishing, unforgettable artistic experiences of my life. Being fully present is when I’m the happiest.

If I could, what would I change about myself?
I’d like to continue learning to truly see everything I’ve achieved. I wouldn’t necessarily change something, but I’d keep nourishing myself—internally, spiritually, and artistically. I want to continue enjoying who I am and all my facets.

What is my greatest achievement in work?
Everything I’ve done has prepared me to own my businesses rooted in art—without losing the essence, the creativity, or the humanity. That’s my greatest achievement: to live with purpose while creating sustainability.

Where would I most like to live?
I love to travel. I grew up in a very poor neighborhood in a big city, but I’ve also had the opportunity to travel a lot. I enjoy exploring, planting seeds of music and art wherever I go. I love to create spaces for others to flourish too. And of course—I love the beach. I also feel drawn to Italy.

My peace—mental, spiritual, and material. That’s the most sacred treasure I’ve found and protected.

I’m passionate, persevering, and I love to dream big with an international vision. I see projects through with focus and heart.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
The forest. Nature connects me to my creativity. Inspiration also comes from within, but it’s important to nourish the senses—textures, smells, colors, flavors, emotions, and relationships. My surroundings stimulate me to keep creating from a place of harmony.

Musical scores. The great symphonies. They’ve shaped me—both in macro and micro structures. They are books of life, of movement, of listening.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
Maybe silence. Or the sound of the wind and birds. Something deeply simple and eternal.

I haven’t thought much about it. But I feel connected to the figure of the goddess of victory—Nike. That symbol has guided me throughout my journey.

My mentor in conducting, Eduardo Marturet. Also, every person who dares to follow their dreams. People who create from nothing. The ones who transform their lives with courage and creativity always inspire me.

Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?
I’m not very good with movies, but I believe the greatest one is the one we get to star in ourselves—our own life. That’s the most unforgettable film of all.

What role do stories play in my life and work?
Stories are blueprints. They allow us to weave our lives with intention. I tell stories through music, gestures, words, and silence. Every person, every note, every project is a story.

My parents. Humberto, my partner. And myself—I am my own biggest believer.
