What is the best thing that I love about my work?
The best thing about my work is the freedom of creation and the beauty of bringing into the reality something that it’s just in my imagination and give it to the world.
What is my idea of happiness?
My idea of happiness is feeling like you’re in the right place at the right moment, being in peace and feeling love and tenderness.
What is my greatest fear?
My greatest fear is waking up one day and feeling like I’m worthless and useless because what I do it’s not really necessary to nobody.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I definitely hate my laziness and my low self-esteem.
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?
One of the person I admire the most is Nobu Happy Spooky, he is a great drawer and polymer clay artist and also a very kind and humble person, which is very rare in these days.
What is my greatest extravagance?
Probably my greatest extravagance is that I need to watch a horror movie to get relaxed and have a good night of sleeping and I also prefer having nightmares than good dreams, ‘cause I find them way more interesting when I wake up.
On what occasion would I lie?
I would lie if a friend of mine should get a very bad haircut and ask me what I think about it.. ‘cause there is no point on giving them insecurities about something they can not change in the immediate.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
The “not so good” part of my work is that you can’t be sure you will be able to pay your bills every month, so sometimes you have no problems and sometimes you need to stay strong and wait better times, this could be really stressful, but I try to not think too much about it.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
The happiest moment in my work is every time the client tell me how much they’re happy with one of my creation, it’s the big reward when you know that your creation has a new lovely home and will be part of new beautiful lives.
If I could, what would I change about myself?
If I could, I’d attend an art school so I would not struggle so much sometimes to find out how to do things in a proper way. But, I do really like to find out how to do things by myself, so.. sometimes I’d just like being less of a loner.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
I believe that, for the moment, my biggest achievement in my work is being able to sell my creation at the right price and not having to devalue it.
Where would I most like to live?
I love my hometown, I’d just like if the people who live here would be a little bit more open-minded about art and underground and non conventional artists.
What is my most treasured possession?
I have two things that are my most treasured possessions: one is a necklace that my grandmother gave to me, it was given to her by her mother when she was young and got really sick, it’s a pendant with a golden spider in it ‘cause in our culture spiders bring good fortune, so when I wear it I feel connected to the women of my family and feel protected. And the other one his my grandfather’s jacket, when I wear it I can still feel his presence and being reassured by it.
What is my most marked characteristic?
Probably my most marked characteristic is my sense of humor, I do not really take myself seriously and it’s a sort of defense against people I do not trust yet.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
Certainly when I want to get inspired I really like staying on the wooden bridge that pass over the river, from there I can watch the sea on one side and the mountains on the other side and spy all the animals that live near the river and listening to the birds singing, it’s really calming.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?
I really don’t like to eat surrounded by strangers so my favorite places to eat and drink are: my home, the park and the beach at evening when all the people are already back home
What books influenced my life and how?
I think that the books that have influenced me the most are: The last unicorn from P.S. Beagle, a collection of short stories by Roald Dahl, the poems of Edgar Allan Poe, all the works of Lovecraft, Kafka and Mishima, Music for Chameleons by Truman Capote, Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Different Seasons by Stephen King and.. wow a lot more.. basically every book I ever read has in some way influenced me, my way of perceiving the world around me and my way of responding to the things that happen to me. All in all I think I’m the result of every word that I ever read.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
I would probably listen to The heart asks pleasure first by Michael Nyman from the movie The Piano, because it sounds like the waves of the sea.. and I would like to die on a beach, while the waves caress me.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
My hero/heroine in fiction is Orlando from the homonymous novel by Virginia Woolf.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
I have no heroes in real life, I admire very much my best friends and my partner, but I think there in not such a thing like heroes in real life, we’re just humans who do their best.
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?
I would recommend to watch Pink Flamingos by John Waters, it’s so weird that you definitely need to see at least once in a lifetime.
What role plays art in my life and work?
I think that everyone needs art to live as a human, art is what elevates us, is what gives us a soul, an immortality, it gives us beauty, it consoles us when everything is lost, I think art is all that is closest to the true meaning of life.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?
I don’t’ know, I’ve never perceived me as the main character neither in my own story, I like standing along the edges and observe, I’m more a listener than a teller and I’m not so sure about how much power we do really have on our lives, but I think it’s ok.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
Even if he would not say that about himself, I think that I would never have achieved the results I have achieved without the support and help of my boyfriend. He gave me my first sewing machine. He was the first who truly believed that what I do is worth and he never backed down when I asked for help. My best friends also have always supported me and believed in what I do. I feel really blessed.
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2020?
As I’ve already said, I’m a loner, I’m just not able to work with other people even if I really admire what they do.
Which people in my profession who can make a real difference in my creative career would i love to meet in 2020?
I’m not good at this too, the best people in my profession are all the ones who support my work, my clients who are always so lovely and the people I’ve already have in my life.
What project, in 2020, am I looking forward to work on?
This 2020 is being really difficult and basically my major project is to finish the series of dolls that I’m making inspired by the novel Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi and then moving to new adventures, hoping that the next year will be less biblical ahahahah.
