What is the best thing that I love about my work?

The thing i love most about my work, is the feeling of freedom. As a woman and artist, being able to express myself and be led by emotions, being in the moment and able to improvise.

What is my idea of happiness?

My idea of happiness is seeing my 8 year old son Théo, growing with the idea that he can fulfill his dreams; and of course, keep dancing as long as Possible.

What is my greatest fear?

My greatest fear is to feel stuck, locked down. Yes I am a bit claustrophobic.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

The trait I most deplore about myself is “To be too much self-critical”.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

The artist I admire the most is the Israeli singer Noa. She expresses her opinions and fights for peace, even though she gets lots of critics. She always puts peace first.

What is my greatest extravagance?

Definitely shoes!

On what occasion would I lie?

I would lie in order to save someone in danger! I was Always amazed by stories during the holocaust, people who hid children to save their lives.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Interesting question:😉 I started with classical ballet, however age being an issue, I moved to flamenco (It must have to do with my roots) ,Experience and knowledge and passion is my real drive, but in the actual world you have to be always up to date.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

I am the happiest when in studio during rehearsals, but on the top of the world when on stage!

If I could, what would I change about myself?

I would definitely change the fact that I am often too anxious.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

My greatest achievement is collaborating with many different artists, musicians and choreographers in Israel, France, London, Amsterdam and Brazil. Dance is an international language !!!

Where would I most like to live?

I was for a long time torn between Tel Aviv where I grew up, and Paris where I live for 20 years now. But now, at the age of 46(!) I feel Paris is my home. I feel happy here. Art is “sacré“ (sacred).

What is my most treasured possession?

My son Thèo !! I know … I don’t possess him but he is my trésor !!

What is my most marked characteristic?

I think I smile a lot.. so I would say that. But also maybe.. being loyal to my friends ?!

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

Most inspirational location is without hesitation le “Petit Palais “ and especially a painting by Courbet ! “Le Sommeil “ (The sleep) 1866.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?

I love at Place des Vosges and the bistrot “Ma Bourgogne “. I love the people as well as the owners there. I even, by magic(?) found a picture of my dad and my best friend when we where young and came to a vacation in Paris, at the same bistrot).

What books influenced my life and how?

For very long time the book that I loved is in Hebrew from Yehudit katzir “Matis has the sun in his belly “the story takes place in Tel Aviv and Paris)
A book that I love now is: “Backwards in high heels” by Tania Kinderdley and Sara Vine.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

Music on my last day; a very very difficult question. I listen to music all the time. I am maybe Influenced by the music. I listen at the moment Kae Tempest “a line Is a curve“ and cannot really choose…

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

In fiction , my heroine would be a fairy , une fée) love and pure kindness.

In real life it would definitely be Golda Meir, the first female prime minister in Israel 1969, as well as Simone VEIL, a holocaust survivor and French politician  who led  to legal abortion in France.

Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime?

Definitely” la vie est belle “ by Roberto Benigni. How to protect his child by giving love, hope and laughter, even in the darkest moments.

What role play stories in my life and work?

Stories are my “drive” when I dance or when I work on choreography and even giving classes.

What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?

Telling a story, feeling the emotions are a real drive in my work.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

My partners in crime would be first, my parents who gave me the possibility to dance, to take dance classes of course. Then, my best friend who always believed in me and of course my son Théo and his father.

Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2022?

Wow, there are many Cie’s I would love to work with. I love the Choreographer Marion Motin , Mehdi Kerkouche , with whom I danced and  learned so much.
I love the Israelis choreographers Ohad Naharin from Bat Sheva dance Cie, and the  choreographer Hofesh Shechter. So actual, profound, free and loaded with my owns roots.

What project, in 2022, am I looking forward to work on?

I am looking forward to working on a new play directed by the wonderful Virginie Lemoine. A true story about Sylvin Rubinstein a flamenco dancer in the 40’s, during the 2nd world war. He had a twin sister Maria, they were  both real flamenco stars. Maria died in the camps, and Sylvin took her place by impersonating her as a female dancer.  He took her name, Dolores, and became a war resistant, in order to revenge the deportation of his sister by tracking nazis. He died at the age of 97! The play is written by Stephane Laporte and Yann Guillon.

Where can you see me or my work in 2022?

This coming June we will perform in Paris, at the Alhambra theatre with a beautiful programme by the composer Stephane Corbin and the actrice Virginie Lemoine. There will be 50 artists on stage for the women rights. The show is called “Elles” and will collect money for the planning familial…

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?

In the Jewish tradition, the “Talmud“ I love the saying everything is predetermined but there is freedom of choice.  I always try to have it in mind, everything is about choices in life. It means no passion no life!
