The Heroine’s Journey of Abhilasha FNU

What is the best thing that I love about my work? The best thing I love about my work is the work itself & the environment! As a filmmaker, telling stories, bringing those words, characters out of
screenplay and producing it each day, wrapping page by page, is surreal. I am a script supervisor in Hollywood, as my 50% work is seeing through my eyes, I feel the power of vision coming into reality, along with meeting new people of diversity, making friends, learning adaptability & traveling the world to make it happen!

What is my idea of happiness? I feel the most happiness I can seize is when I can constantly learn to live in present and express myself in forms of art, & language without any kind of inhibition. Also, independency with learning the art detachment & attachment and learning empathy without self-sabotaging is my idea happiness.

What is my greatest fear? My greatest fear would be being vulnerable when writing, which I am trying to overcome now & then. I fear that if I let myself go & dive into the deep writing, I might read something that I didn’t expect. Maybe I fear not able to see what’s coming next, but life’s other word is unpredictability.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? I am learning the art of self-love, and my flaws are my power as well. So nothing that I disapprove of, but I feel I need to work on my negative thoughts sometimes. We live in a world that again & again teaches you, people are always having a personal intention when they reach out to you. Recently, this thought overpowered me that made my thoughts swirl around being genuine & restricting myself to be vulnerable around people. But I realized I only need to take care of myself & my mindfulness to feel the blissfulness of my own entity.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire? I admire Priyanka Chopra & Selena Gomez as an artist and business women since I was a teenager. The way they present themselves,
and talk about their vulnerability as humans, that is something I admire. Of Course their work & stepping stones to the journey of being successful in what they do is unquestionably acknowledged worldwide, but the personalities they are. And they both are very different from each other but still when they speak on a public platform, they make sure their story inspires, helps & motivates someone who is listening.

What is my greatest extravagance? I am very basic but when it comes to art supplies, music instruments… I I can’t help it. Something I can’t think twice are art supplies, canvas, new paint brushes, colors, some new music instruments that intrigues me. This if something comes when you have artistic instincts, I have accepted. I I can cancel a trip with friends for my art supplies.

On what occasion would I lie? I don’t like lying..but that would be a lie if I say I don’t lie. I often lie to
myself, and I am glad I am at this stage of life, where I have the awareness of it as it is the first step towards truth. But I can’t never say a lie to the world, I might say half truth & half untold to be safe, because I won’t be able to sleep at night otherwise. period

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? As script supervisor, the most important work is to be honest, but that also sometimes brings disappointment, frustration to the crew & cast. I like my skills on it but because I am people’s person, I don’t like it…?

When and where was I the happiest, in my work? Honestly, I have been very blessed in my almost 3 years of filmmaking career where my creativity, handwork, and sincerity have been acknowledged and appreciated in each production. So it’s like every time I am working, & we wrap a production, I am the happiest.

If I could, what would I change about myself? If I could I would have asked myself to start believing myself a little early in my life. It would’ve been amazing.

What is my greatest achievement in work? Recognizable achievement is doing 60 productions in 2.5 years including 8 feature films, being awarded for a feature film ‘I Rise’ in 2022 where was a
script supervisor & also painted 30 canvas for the film and awarded as Best Art creator. Recently one of our feature ‘A miracle before Christmas’ starring Keith David, Romeo Miller, LeToya Luckett is screening on BET+ this December. Also, working with grammy award winning Leon Bridges
on his journey of making music on Leon Bridges – Life From Gold-Diggers Hotel. And the success of @home with Tori, a lifestyle reality cooking show starring Tori Spelling, is fruitful to work on. I have recently launched my NFT 10k art on Opens as Akukushead, to sum up 2022 has been great
growth.

What books influenced my life and how? Many Lives, Many Masters Book by Brian Weiss. I read it when I was in 9th grade, I believe. I think that inspired me to do my bachelor’s degree in psychology. That booked also helped me understand how trauma, experiences are not just lived a life but it could be actually driving from our DNAs or past lives. But it was more of a philosophical understanding for me to dig deeper in my past & wounds, only to reflect & not to feel the sorrow about it but accept it and overcome the past & live in the present. That book influenced a lot in my life unconsciously.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen to on my last day? ‘Ye Meri Kahani’ by Atif Aslam that talks about childhood & growing up.

What role play stories in my life and work? I am a filmmaker and stories are all I live for in life & work. If there’s no story, I won’t have a career. And if I am not living stories then I
won’t have a life.

What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ mean to me? I strongly believe in it. Because I am a person till now, have been writing my own stories, finding my path and watching myself leading to them. Sometimes it feels surreal.
