The Heroine’s Journey of Chéva Chery

What is the best thing that I love about my work?

What I love most about my work is the sense of control it offers.

Through writing, I am able to shape everything — good and evil, every gesture, every emotion.

It is a space where everything holds meaning and every detail matters.

Beyond that, it has become far more than just work.

It is a way for me to survive, to understand life, and to grow into who I am meant to be.

What is my idea of happiness?

For me, happiness is not constant perfection, but a state of inner peace.

It is waking up knowing that my mother and my sister are there, and that my loved ones are well.

It is continuing to dream, to imagine, and to carry within me countless ideas for films, series, and books — sometimes wild, but always alive.

Happiness is also moving forward, no matter what, while keeping my eyes on that small light at the end of the tunnel.

What is my greatest fear?

My greatest fear is losing my mother and my sister.

At times, this fear tries to confine me, making me hesitate, hold back, and let opportunities pass without seizing them.

It can lead me to ignore my own desires and my true potential.

Yet, paradoxically, this very fear also becomes a source of strength.

It drives me to move forward, to push beyond my limits, and to never give up on my dreams.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

The trait I struggle with the most is my tendency to doubt myself.

At times, I overthink, hold myself back, and question whether I am truly capable.

However, each day I learn to transform this doubt into strength.

I choose to move forward despite uncertainty, and to believe in myself and my potential.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?

I deeply admire individuals such as Tyler Perry and Mercedes Ron for their creativity and their ability to tell stories that resonate with audiences.

Beyond specific names, I have great respect for anyone who moves forward with courage while doing what they love.

For me, it is passion, perseverance, and authenticity that truly define admiration.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

What I like least about my work is the emotional weight it carries.

Writing requires me to dive deeply into my emotions, sometimes the most intense ones.

It can be challenging, yet it is also what makes each story authentic and alive.

When and where was I happiest in my work?

I was at my happiest in my work when I completed my manuscript — a 74-page psychological novel, deeply rooted in my personal experience.

That moment unfolded in the simplicity of my own space, at home, on my bed, yet it carried an almost sacred intensity.

It was a surge of pride, a quiet euphoria, and the profound feeling of having brought a part of myself into existence.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

If I could change something about myself, it would be my tendency to let doubt take over when my ideas become overwhelming.

I have a mind that is constantly creating, capable of generating multiple ideas at once, yet the fear of not being seen, understood, or supported can sometimes make me question myself.

However, I am learning to turn this abundance of ideas into strength, to trust my vision, and to move forward even without immediate recognition.

What I would change is not my imagination, but the fear that sometimes tries to hold it back.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

My greatest achievement in my work is not yet visible, but it already lives within me.

It lies in my ability to create, to persevere, and to continue despite doubt and challenges.

Every idea I develop, every story I carry within me is already a form of achievement in the making.

I am still building, but I know that the best is yet to come.

Where would I most like to live?

I would like to live in a place where I feel at peace, inspired, and free to create.

A place that nurtures my imagination and soothes my mind.

But more importantly, I would like to live in a better world, where, when I look at someone — regardless of their skin color or origin — I feel that we all belong to the same family.

A world where humanity rises above differences.

What is my most treasured possession?

My most treasured possession is not material, but deeply human: my family, especially my mother and my sister.

They are my strength, my support, and my refuge in a world that can sometimes be difficult.

Their love, their presence, and everything we have gone through together hold a value beyond anything material.

What is my most marked characteristic?

My most marked characteristic is the combination of my positive spirit and inner strength.

Even when I feel overwhelmed, I strive to maintain my dignity and keep moving forward.

I have the ability to transform pain into something meaningful, to find light in darkness, while still holding on to my smile.

What is my most inspirational location in my city?

The most inspiring place in my city, for me, is the streets where I grew up.

Every time I return, I feel something deeply special, like butterflies in my stomach.

I feel at peace there, calm and almost relieved.

Without even realizing it, I find myself smiling.

These places remind me of where I come from and give me the strength to keep moving forward.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink in my city?

My favorite place to eat and drink in my city is a small shelter where a woman I consider like family prepares homemade meals.

It is much more than just a place to eat.

It is a space filled with warmth, connection, and simplicity.

It feels like home, surrounded by a genuine and welcoming atmosphere.

What books influenced my life and how?

The books that have influenced my life the most are deeply connected to my roots, my emotions, and my vision of the world.

Masters of the Dew is one of the most powerful works I have ever read. It taught me resilience, dignity, and hope, even in the midst of suffering. It moved me so deeply that it brought me to tears with every reading, and it remains, after my own book Bourreau des cœurs, my favorite.

Les Dix Hommes Noirs had a profound philosophical impact on me. Through the character of Franck, I came to understand that suffering is not failure, and that life, even in hardship, still holds meaning. It also taught me that giving up is never the answer.

The novel Collision led me to reflect on human emotions, the consequences of our choices, and the complexity of life.

Finally, the works of Odette Roy Fombrun, such as The Incredible Secret of Kololo, Where is Yvonne? and Who Will Have the Treasure?, shaped my childhood. They gave me the love and joy of writing. From a young age, I could already see myself writing a book, and these stories made that dream feel real and possible.

Through all these works, I did not just discover stories — I discovered strength, pain, hope, and above all, my own voice.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen to on my last day?

Honestly, I do not have a specific piece of music in mind. I am a music lover, and music has always been an important part of my life.

However, if I had to choose what would bring me the most peace on my last day, it would not be a song.

It would be the voices of my mother and my sister.

Their voices carry love, memories, and a warmth that deeply comforts me.

I believe that the most beautiful music is not always something we hear, but something we feel — and for me, that feeling lives within them.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?

I do not have one specific fictional hero or heroine.

What moves me the most are characters who fall, go through pain, failure, or doubt, and still find the strength to rise again.

I am drawn to imperfect, human, and vulnerable heroes because they reflect the reality of life more truthfully.

To me, the most inspiring characters are not the ones who never suffer, but the ones who keep going despite their wounds.

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

My heroes and heroines in real life are all the women and men who sacrifice themselves every day in the hope of creating a better life for the people they love.

I deeply admire parents who give their time, energy, and sometimes even their dreams for the well-being of their families.

To me, true heroism is not found only in visible achievements, but in silent sacrifices, everyday courage, and unconditional love.

Which movie would I recommend seeing at least once in a lifetime?

The movie I would recommend watching at least once in a lifetime is Through the Fire.

It is a deeply human story about courage, sacrifice, rebuilding oneself, and inner strength in the face of hardship.

This film deeply moved me because of its emotional intensity and the way it shows that a person can continue rising, even after their life has completely changed.

What role do stories play in my life and work?

Scriptura anima animae meae est.

(Writing is the soul of my soul.)

Stories are not simply something I create — they are something I deeply live through.

They give meaning to my emotions, my wounds, and my dreams.

Through them, I transform pain into strength, silence into voice, and scars into light.

Because in order to write, one must have a story.

And to me, stories are the true life of our souls.

What do the words “You are the storyteller of your own life” mean to me?

To me, these words mean that I am not a prisoner of other people’s thoughts, expectations, or desires.

I am the only person who truly holds the power to shape my future, choose my path, and decide who I become.

Even though I believe that some things may be predestined, I also believe that the way I face them, rise from them, and continue moving forward belongs entirely to me.

Being the storyteller of your own life means refusing to let the world write your story for you.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, or partner in crime?

My little sister is my greatest supporter.

She is the one who reads my stories, truly believes in my talent, and actively looks for agents and opportunities for me.

Her faith in me is pure, constant, and deeply precious.

She reminds me that my dreams do not belong only to me, but also live within the hearts of those who love me.

She is not only a supporter — she is my partner in this journey.

Which people or companies would I like to work with?

I would love to work with Prime Video.

I admire the quality of their films and series, as well as their ability to bring powerful, human, and emotionally impactful stories to life.

I believe my ideas could be a true asset to their platform.

My stories are designed for one or two seasons, with intensity, depth, and meaning.

But beyond a single project, I have many stories to tell — each one different, each one carrying its own unique emotion.

I am not simply building one story; I am building an entire universe.

What project am I looking forward to working on?

I am especially looking forward to working on two projects that are deeply meaningful to me: Bourreau des cœurs and EX-PÉRIENCE.

Bourreau des cœurs is a deeply emotional story that reflects my sensitivity, my vision of love, and the complexity of human relationships.

EX-PÉRIENCE represents another side of my creativity — a story shaped by intensity, reflection, human wounds, and profound emotions.

These two projects are not just simple ideas.

They are pieces of who I am, and I am determined to bring them to life.

Where can people see me or my work?

“People can discover my work on Wisppal, where I published my first book.”

where I published my first book.

To me, this book represents a form of rebirth — a welcome to the new woman I am becoming, a woman ready to open herself to the world.

It is different from the kind of stories I usually imagine and plan to develop, yet it carries my truth and a deeply personal part of my journey.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me?

To me, the words “Passion Never Retires” mean that true passion lives within us regardless of age, gender, or the passing of time.

A genuine passion never truly disappears.

It simply waits for the right moment to be expressed, seen, and shared with the world.

I believe that people may grow older, change, or fall, but when passion deeply lives inside someone, it continues to burn within them forever.

Which creative professionals should Peter invite to tell their story?

Honestly, it is difficult for me to choose specific names, because I believe that every creative person carries a unique story worth sharing.

I especially admire artists, writers, filmmakers, and creators who use their art to touch human emotions and inspire others to believe in themselves.

I believe sincere and passionate voices always deserve to be heard.
