THE HEROINE’S JOURNEY DEEP COACHING
Film Edition — Natlab Eindhoven
Learn to see the story beneath the story.
Every client enters your coaching room with a story.
A story about who she is.
What has happened to her.
What she wants.
What holds her back.
And often, a story she has never consciously told herself.
The Heroine’s Journey Deep Coaching — Film Edition is a 2.5-hour masterclass for coaches who want to discover a different way of seeing their clients — through the lens of story, archetype and transformation.
And what better place to explore stories than the cinema?
At Natlab Eindhoven, three extraordinary films become three powerful coaching cases.
THREE FILMS. THREE WOMEN. THREE JOURNEYS.
THE WIZARD OF OZ
The Call
Dorothy is suddenly taken out of the world she knows.
What does she believe she is looking for?
And what does she actually need?
Through Dorothy’s journey we explore the moment when a familiar story is disrupted and a new journey begins.
ERIN BROCKOVICH
Finding Her Voice
Erin is underestimated by almost everyone around her.
Yet somewhere beneath the story others have written about her lies a different woman — one with courage, intelligence, determination and a powerful voice.
When does she begin to see that woman herself?
And what happens when a client begins to discover an identity that is larger than the one she has been living?
THELMA & LOUISE
The Point of No Return
Two women leave their familiar lives behind and find themselves on a journey from which there is no simple return.
Freedom. Friendship. Fear. Choice. Identity. Transformation.
What happens when a woman can no longer return to the story she used to live?
And how does a coach recognise the moment when a client’s old story is beginning to break apart?
FROM FILM TO DEEP COACHING
The films are not the subject of the masterclass.
Your clients are.
Film gives us powerful, memorable and emotionally rich stories through which we can explore the deeper patterns of human experience.
During the masterclass we introduce the 12 Archetypes of The Heroine’s Journey and begin to explore how archetypes can become a practical lens for coaching.
You will learn to look beyond the presenting problem and ask different questions:
Who is this woman becoming?
Which archetype is speaking through her story?
What is the story beneath the story?
What dramatic situation might she really be facing?
What is trying to emerge?
What could her next chapter become?
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE
In this 2.5-hour masterclass you will:
- discover the Heroine’s Journey as a framework for coaching;
- meet the 12 archetypes and begin recognising them in human stories;
- explore three iconic female characters through selected film scenes;
- discover how archetypes can reveal patterns beneath a client’s presenting story;
- explore the difference between the story a client tells and the deeper story she may be living;
- practise turning archetypal insights into deeper coaching questions;
- apply the approach to a real situation from your own coaching practice;
- experience the beginning of a different way of working with transformation.
This is not a lecture about archetypes.
It is an experience of learning to see differently.
THE STORY BENEATH THE STORY
A client may walk into your coaching room and say:
“I don’t know what I want anymore.”
You could explore her goals.
You could examine her obstacles.
You could help her identify options.
But Deep Coaching asks another question:
What story are you living?
And then:
Who are you becoming?
The conversation changes.
Because beneath the problem there may be an archetype.
Beneath the archetype there may be a dramatic situation.
Beneath the dramatic situation there may be a deeper journey.
And beneath the journey there may be a story waiting to be understood.
THE 12 ARCHETYPES
The archetypes give you another language for understanding your clients.
They help you recognise recurring patterns of identity, desire, fear, behaviour and transformation.
Rather than asking simply:
“What is wrong?”
you begin to explore:
“Who is showing up?”
“Who is she trying to become?”
“Which part of her story has not yet been heard?”
The archetypes become a lens, not a label.
That distinction matters.
The purpose is not to put your client into a box.
The purpose is to open the story.
FROM WATCHING STORIES TO READING STORIES
The great thing about cinema is that we instinctively understand character.
We recognise the moment when Dorothy leaves home.
We feel Erin Brockovich discovering her voice.
We sense when Thelma and Louise cross a line from which they cannot simply return.
We recognise these moments because we understand stories.
The masterclass invites you to take that same ability into your coaching practice.
See the character.
Understand the archetype.
Recognise the dramatic situation.
Listen for the deeper story.
Ask the question that opens the next chapter.
THIS IS FOR YOU IF…
You are a coach, mentor, therapist or facilitator who wants to explore the deeper human story behind the person sitting in front of you.
You are curious about archetypes, narrative, transformation and human behaviour.
You want more than another coaching technique.
You want a different lens through which to understand change.
You enjoy learning through stories, films and conversation.
And you believe that some of the most powerful coaching questions are not:
What is your problem?
but:
What story are you living now?
A FIRST EXPERIENCE OF DEEP COACHING
This is a focused 2.5-hour experience.
There is enough theory to give you the framework.
Enough film to make the ideas come alive.
Enough conversation to challenge your assumptions.
And enough practice to begin using the approach yourself.
You will not leave with a stack of slides and a new piece of terminology.
You will leave with a new way of looking.
And perhaps with a question that stays with you long after you leave the cinema:
What story is my client living now?
