The Heroine’s Journey of Marjan Samie

What is the best thing that I love about my work?

Being an Artist allows me to have my own personality. I understand the meaning of “creation” better when I paint or do other works of art. Through it, I can act like a writer, director, critic, fighter or any other character.

What is my idea of happiness?

My idea is a picture of my family and myself walking in a forest and beautiful nature, while we are listening to the music of nature and inhaling the fresh air. A world free of any tensions and annoying news.

What is my greatest fear?

It is a horrible picture of the destruction of the world due to the political profiteering and power-seeking of politicians. War, to show the power at the cost of killing people and destroying the beauties of nature.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

To be honest, I am very sensitive and this sensitive spirit sometimes bothers me.

Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?

It is very difficult to answer this question and name all artists. I admire all the artists who struggle with the hardships of life to make their voices heard around the world. Artists who try to serve people and world through their art.

What is my greatest extravagance?
Unfortunately, I sometimes make time for people who are not willing to accept anything other than their opinions. For people who are stubborn and narrow-minded. This is really annoying.

On what occasion would I lie?

I know lying is not good. Because a lie will be the basis for next lies. But, if I have to lie, I avoid answering as much as I can. I start with ambiguous answers to deflect the topic of discussion so that the person stops asking questions.

If I do not succeed and the person continues to ask questions, I will lie to let the person to understand my lie.

The subject matter and circumstances or occasion are no different to me.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

It is very difficult that your efforts to be in vain or to be rejected by some people for no reason. It is also very sad to be called as an artist or someone who only paints. It is not interesting to hear this sentence: “the painter does not do anything special.”. Unfortunately it sometimes happens and I dislike it.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
The starting point of my movement, the moment I decided to change my path forever.

My happiest moment goes back to 10 years ago. When I was moving in a different direction from Art. My job could not satisfy me. So, I changed my mind and pursued “Art” and took a step in the direction I always wanted.

What books influenced my life and how?

Undoubtedly historical books. Because in each of them lies the truths of many secrets of life. Mentioning the mistakes and the right ways of the past. They are like a beacon for me.

You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?

If I have the chance to hear the last music of my life, it would be the music of nature with my Mother’s voice. A music without interfering with the sound of cars, planes and etc.

With respect to all the composers and singers of the world, for me there is no music as beautiful as the music of nature and no sound as beautiful as the voice of my Mother.
