What is the best thing that I love about my work? I work as a freelancer so i love the independence and flexibility it gives me although the uncertainty of freelancing can be a little stressful. When it comes to aesthetic i love the colours i use because its the part where i have more fun!
What is my idea of happiness? I like simplicity and i think life secret to happiness is quiet simple: Good friendships, food on the table and a studio, travelling and nature are the main keys to happiness to me
What is my greatest fear? My professional fear is not being able to survive from my art, of course, but then i have some personal fears like not being able to have kids and a good partner to share my life with in the future. I also had fear of candles/fire when i was young i still stress with it
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself? i like my obsession towards achieving my goals, sometimes it can became unhealthy but i try to see it as resilience (*) and a sign of being hardworkin
Which living persons in my profession do i most admire? So many its difficult to name all but the ones who stand out right now and inspire my studio practice are Emma Hopkins, Ines longevial, Colleen Barry, Amaya gurpride, Jenny Morgan, Alex Katz, Jenny Saville, Jenna gribbon, Deng shequing and Aleah Chapin
What is my greatest extravagance? Nothing is crossing my mind right now but i must have one for wanting to become an artist
On what occasion would I lie? I actually wouldn’t lie in any occasion, maybe if I had a life or death situation but those who know me can confirm that im a very bad liar, so I prefer to embrace honesty. i also like the idea of owning my actions and its consequences i like the courage behind being truthful.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Lately I’ve been feeling the need to make bigger paintings, I would say that i dislike the size of my work at the moment, i also feel the need to improve my compositions and themes although i know that with time and self discovery i will get there.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? when i was studying at AARP (ig: @portoatelier) those where my happiest days not only due to the amazing company and people that are part of the atelier but also because my technical skills improved a lot.
If I could, what would I change about myself? I would change my indecisiveness but i know it only happens because i have passion for a lot of different things.
What is my greatest achievement in work? I believe my greatest achievement is yet to come but I was very proud when i was accepted to my part-time teaching position at E-Art Academy as a painting teacher.
Where would I most like to live? I would love to go to New York or London for my career but I always dreamed to live in a place like Bali or Costa rica when it comes to lifestyle. although i love Portugal so maybe you will find me at Porto city in the future.
What is my most treasured possession? I would say it’s a little statue from peru my mom bought me when she went to the Amazonian jungle a little copper “Pachamama” it’s my lucky charmer.
What is my most marked characteristic? Im very optimistic and goal driven.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? I always get very inspired when im in Sintra at the Iniciation wheel in Quinta da Regaleira its very mystical and powerful or near the ocean, i love praia grande and Baleal.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city? I enjoy going to Honest Greens its a healthy food place here in Lisbon that i just cant get enough
What books influenced my life and how? The Power of Now by Eckhart Tole and Mastery of the self by Don Miguel Ruiz Jr those books help me deal with my limiting beliefs and give me hope
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day? “Ao paredes confesso” album by Bernardo Moreira or any jazz music because it reminds me my childhood and loved ones
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? I never thought of it to be honest but theres some characters in fiction that i relate to like 22 from Pixar “Soul” and Eponine from “Les Miserables” Musical
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? All the artists that embrace their eccentricity like Dali or Dita von Tease
Which movie would i recommend to see once in a lifetime? Forest Gump or cloud atlas
What role play stories in my life and work? Stories are very important in my work, i love the concept of identity, that’s why i love portraiture, for me with individuality comes storytelling.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ mean to me? For me this means that you’re able to make your own actions and take responsibility for them which is relieving but also stressful. although I believe that we can achieve any outcome from life with the right mindset, persistence and bit of luck

Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2022? I would love to work with delphian gallery and also being able to spend some time in New York or London to get in touch with local galleries and different art scenes.
What project, in 2022, am I looking forward to work on? Im excited to start on a new series of paintings featuring my favourite local and international burlesque performers. Lately I’ve been feeling the need to step away my typical portraits and find a narrative on my canvas. im planning to focus on colour, mystery and sensuality and i think burlesque has all that.

What do the words “Passion Never Retires” mean to me? If these refers to work i can see them as a way to express that you must have passion in order to move and achieve your goals. Being passionate its essential to me because its what keeps life interesting.
