What is the best thing that I love about my work?
As a fashion designer and entrepreneur, being creative and exploring new ideas is the best thing that I love about my work. Creativity helps me to adventure into new avenues, be energetic, unique and have independent thinking. It encourages self-expression into my work and that leads to self-satisfaction.
What is my idea of happiness?
Never look for a perfect moment or great accomplishment for happiness. Enjoy the process, celebrate smaller milestones of growth and be happy throughout the journey of life.
What is my greatest fear?
As such I have no fear of anything. But if I’m unable to use my full potential and deliver my best in anything that I love to do, that would disappoint me.
What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?
I see good in all the people, trust them easily and help them a lot. There were times; I faced betrayal from the most trusted. Probably, I should be more observant of peoples’ actions than their words before trusting them.
Which living persons in my profession do I most admire?
I admire the women who work in garment industries in spite of harsh working conditions earning their livelihood and supporting their families. I also admire living legend fashion designer Vivienne Westwood for her undying spirit at her age, her fashion & activism, boldness and strength.
What is my greatest extravagance?
Being self-motivated, independent, a team player and boss of my life.
On what occasion would I lie?
I don’t see a reason to lie in life. At times, even if the feelings to be conveyed to others are harsh and unpleasant under certain circumstances, I still prefer to tell the truth in a simple and straight manner. It’s best to be honest even in the most difficult and challenging situations because it makes life a lot easier in the longer run.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?
Lack of intellectual property protection and lack of transparency to claim artist royalties.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work?
I’ve been content and happy throughout my journey as a creative professional. In the last few years I’ve outgrown more than a fashion entrepreneur and become an advisor for business strategy and investment relations for technology & innovation companies. This continuous transformation of me for the better and exploring new industries with a creative mind-set is currently making me happy.

Trying to keep away from negative and toxic people around me.
What is my greatest achievement in work?
Iam a mentor for women entrepreneurs, start-ups and incubators. This responsibility makes me think beyond my own success. I feel very satisfied when Iam contributing my work towards success and growth of those enterprises that I mentor. It’s like a collective success and I consider this as my greatest achievement.
Where would I most like to live?
Most of my family members like siblings and cousins live in different countries. I am fine to live in any place as long as Iam closer to my loved ones.
What is my most treasured possession?
Beautiful memories of the times that I spent with my family and close friends are the most treasured.
What is my most marked characteristic?
People say it’s my smile and never give up attitude.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city?
I live in a city which is blessed with pleasant weather and greenery. My home and garden with beautiful landscaping is the place I love the most. It is serene, relaxing, closer to nature and inspiring.
What is my favorite place to eat and drink in my city?
Company of the people with whom I hangout to eat and drink matters to me a lot. When it’s a good company, any place like a resort, restaurant, friend’s home etc. is my favorite.
What books influenced my life and how?
Iam inspired by Elon Musk and in particular his contribution towards innovation. This led me to read the book ‘A Woman Makes A Plan’, author Maye Musk, mother of Elon Musk. It’s fascinating and great to know the experiences of Maye Musk going through all the struggles and how she turned difficulties into success. She overcame ageism in the modeling industry and established it as a lifelong career. Her indomitable spirit is very inspiring to me.
You Only Die Once. What music would I listen on my last day?
Any of the music compositions of Dimond Saints. I like their wonderful blend of melody tunes with aggressive breakbeats. It’s refreshing and addictive.
Who is my hero or heroine in fiction?
I love the fictional character Wonder Woman for her qualities such as compassion, caring and strength. She is a symbol of truth, justice and equality to people everywhere.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?
In the current pandemic situation, frontline Covid-19 warriors like healthcare professionals, workers, police department etc are my real life heroes and heroines.
Which movie would I recommend to see once in a lifetime?
I love Christopher Nolan’s movies and would recommend ‘Tenet’. It’s a fiction and thriller movie which explores the flow of time keeping the audience intrigued. Nolan continuously experiments with metafictional elements, nonlinear storytelling, labyrinth plots and the merging of style and form. I find his style of film making very fascinating and thought provoking.
What role play stories in my life and work?
Stories share experiences in a way that creates an emotional connection with others. Additionally, they teach valuable lessons that can be learnt from others’ experiences which in turn help me understand my purpose and meaning of life better. Inspiring stories motivate me at work.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?
It means to me that I am the creator of my own life and destiny. Life is like a blank canvas and it’s up to me how I want to paint it.
Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?
My family and a couple of best friends are not just my fans, partners in crime, but they are my support, encouragement, love and joy elements in life. I’d say they are my league of fantastic partners.
Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2022?
Considering the work I do and my expertise related to sustainability and denims, I’d like to collaborate with Patagonia, Mud jeans, LVMH, Jeanologia, WGSN, Levi Strauss & Co. These companies too share a similar vision and mission as that of mine.
Luxury brands like Chanel, Dior, Bvlgari and Swarovski embody woman’s beauty, strength, liberation, freedom, elegance and style in their collections. I’d love to associate with these brands because I too believe in the same essence of a woman and want to advocate it.
What project, in 2022, am I looking forward to work on?
I am working on a research paper on sustainability in denims. The research is about why and how to achieve eco-friendly denim manufacturing, ethical practices and fair trade. It also includes adoption of innovative methods like laser technology in denim washing treatments against traditional methods that use toxic chemicals which are harmful for the environment and people. The goal is to contribute my work towards achieving global goals – SDG (sustainable development goals of United Nations) for a better future for all in the world.
