What is the best thing that I love about my work? I am a graphic designer and UX professional from India, living in Amsterdam. What I love most about my work is being able to convert ideas into visual reality!

What is my greatest fear? It’s funny, but I am in my 20’s and still afraid of the dark.

What is my greatest extravagance? Sneakers.
On what occasion would I lie? I’m a terrible liar! My face always gives me away.
What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work? Working for “exposure”.
When and where was I the happiest, in my work? I love to design so work-wise I’ve always been happy.
If I could, what would I change about myself? Overthinking.
What is my greatest achievement in work? When I see people interacting with my designs and they have a big smile on their face. Makes my day!
Where would I most like to live? Anywhere, close to my loved ones.
What is my most treasured possession? It’s a painting gifted to me by my grandfather, Prosenjit Dowerah. He was one of the pioneering forces of modern art in Assam. This painting is extremely close to my heart because I later learned that he was facing financial difficulties and was offered a lot for this painting yet he didn’t sell it, for he wanted me to have it.
What is my most marked characteristic? Being authentic.
What is my most inspirational location, in my city? Amsterdam is a beautiful city. Every part of it feels like a postcard personified! Inside the city, I mostly go to Rembrandt park and Sloterplas. Outside the city, I like the Zandvoort beach.
What is my favourite place to eat and drink, in my city? I have a lot of favorites in this regard. I’ll namedrop a few –

What books influenced my life and how? The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and Who Moved My Cheese? by Dr. Spencer Johnson. I believe both these books have taught me the power to deal with life and change.

Who is my hero or heroine in fiction? Princess Leia.
Who are my heroes and heroines in real life? My mom for raising us two daughters single-handedly in a patriarchal society. And my grandma for being the wind beneath our wings.

What role plays art in my life and work? It is an integral part of me.
What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me? It’s your life and you can decide which stories to tell and how to tell.
