What is the best thing that I love about my work?

I am a music supervisor and there are a lot of beautiful sides of my work. I have the opportunity to listen to music and to constantly discover new amazing band and artists. Also, I speak with a lot of people and I often meet and get to know professionals from different fields: musicians, publishers, sync managers, directors, editors, producers and so on. Anyway, the thing that I like the most is the fact that with my work I somehow, even if in a small part, I contribute to tell stories, to entertain people and help them spending some pleasant time.

What is my idea of happiness?

I think that it is possible to be happy when even in difficult times you can rely on something you love doing or on someone you care for.

What is my greatest fear?

I am scared by the idea of seing people that I love suffering. This makes me overprotective sometimes.

What is the trait that I most deplore in myself?

I think that I am too afraid to disappoint people, or make them feel bad. Sometimes, this brings me not to be direct enough when I need to give negative feedbacks and it can cause problems.

Which living persons in my profession do i most admire?

It is difficult to mention only one since I admire a lot of music supervisors. Mary Ramos’ work was maybe crucial to me to help me understand this world and what to aim to. Jen Malone’s career is also a great source of inspiration to me.

What is my greatest extravagance?

I still have all the cassette tapes that I recorded when I was very young and used to listen to music by walkmen!

On what occasion would I lie?

I don’t think lies are wise as they sooner or later came out but maybe I would lie to protect someone I care for.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

I feel uncomfortable when I negotiate for the right to use a very difficult song for a sync, the right owners really get involved in the project and then some changes occur and I have to tell people that the sync is canceled. I work to avoid this kind of scenario, but sometimes it is beyond my control.

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

I was very enthusiastic when I started working of the first season of “Skam Italia”, since it seemed totally different from everything I had done before. I had the opportunity to take part in a great project, with a great showrunner and a wonderful team. Looking for the right soundtrack was an interesting challenge and I also had a lot of fun.

If I could, what would I change about myself?

As I was saying before I would like to be more direct in critical situations.

What is my greatest achievement in work?

I am very proud to have helped in the realization of the soundtrack of the series “Skam Italia”, since it was praised by audience and critics, it inspired a lot of projects which came later and it contributed to bring attention on the role of music supervisor in Italy.

Where would I most like to live?

I would like to change the place to live from time to time.

What is my most treasured possession?

My daughter. *This answer might change when she will become a teenager and start listen to music I don’t like

What is my most marked characteristic?

I am very determined and well organized. I always bring projects to be finalized, I don’t like to leave things undone.

What is my most inspirational location, in my city?

Rome is a strange place to live. It might be beautiful and very stressing at the same time. When I was younger I always thought I would have easily moved if I had the opportunity but in the years I changed my mind. There are a lot of places and spots that I have a strong bond with, maybe the ones I more often go back to are some less known, more wild parks and villas: Tor Fiscale, Parco degli Acquedotti, Valle dell’Aniene.

What is my favorite place to eat and drink, in my city?

I like having a drink with my friends at RARO Bar Emporio, in the area where I live.

What books influenced my life and how?

Too many! Focusing on professional life, “Post punk” by Simon Reynolds and more recently “Superonda” by Valerio Mattioli left me the will to do researches and delve into things when it comes to music and this deeply influenced my approach to work.

The discography of David Bowie.

Daria Morgendoffer!

Who are my heroes and heroines in real life?

The ones who work to save people from war, poverty, illness, violence.

Fight Club

What role play stories in my life and work?

I work to help people narrating stories, and I always try to learn something from stories that I hear from others.

What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?

They can be a guide to act, be brave, take decisions and not to expect others to do so for you. However it is not always so simple, sometimes things that are not under our control determine our choices and life changes.

Who is my greatest fan, sponsor, partner in crime?

My greatest partner in crime is music supervisor and dj Federico Diliberto Paulsen. He is a friend and a colleague. We have been knowing each other for many years and worked on most important projects together, always advicing, stimulating and encouraging each other.

Which people or companies would I like to work with in 2022?

I just started my experience as in-house music supervisor and music consultant at Cross Productions and I can’t wait to get more into this job and to work with all professionals in this company.

What project, in 2022, am I looking forward to work on?

I am working on two interesting series, one crime and one comedy and I can’t wait that they are released.

What do the words “Passion Never Retiresmean to me?

In my experience, if you are really into doing something you never get really tired of it. Your passion might change in time, it might go in the background to leave space to other interests but it is always there.
