The Heroine’s Journey of Chloé Noble

What is the best thing that I love about my work?

As an actress and artist I love the adventure that represents every project I do. Whether it’s a play, or film, or dance there is always this sensation of discovering new territories. Every time is like a voyage I make within myself and through the story that is told. It is quite thrilling.

Being touched by the beauty of the world – that resides in every little and big moments, and having people I love and who love me to share it with.

What is my greatest fear?

I can be very stubborn and defensive. It can and has served me but very often they are traits I wish I didn’t have… often wonder how I would experience life without them.

To save my life I guess. Or to save the life of someone I love.

What is the thing that I dislike the most in my work?

Auditioning. The whole process is very much energy, skills and self-confidence consuming for mostly rejections. I sure should learn to love it because 75% of my work is just doing that, over and over again…

When and where was I the happiest, in my work?

I remember one day I was on the set of an independent movie in the South of France. We woke up very early to go shoot a scene at dawn in the mountains of Rustrel (to give you an idea we call this place The Provencal Colorado) and I was here watching the sun rising, covering the sky with layers of oranges and purples, freezing cold but surrounded by beauty and doing the thing I love the most… acting !

If I could, what would I change about myself?

I would be more confident, less in my head and more sustainably into actions and concerte steps !

What is my greatest achievement in work?

Find happiness and fulfillment in the things we do. Feeling like we are contributing something worth it to this world.

What role play stories in my life and work?

A very important role. To me stories are the way to reflect on our reality and give testimonial of life experiences. Telling stories help me to understand myself and listening to stories allow me to understand others.

In my work it is central. Being an actress is being a storyteller, and calling on the empathy to impersonate someone else. I believe stories have the power to take us to places we wouldn’t go otherwise and to change us deeply.

What do the words ‘You are the storyteller of your own life’ to me?

They resonate ! Even thou I would rather say you are the writer of your own life. I believe we do «write» every day our own story through the actions and the choices we make. Some one else could be the storyteller of my life but I am most definitely the one who’s writing it, whether I am conscious of it or not.
